For the purpose of guest lecture report, can you please provide some insight into how long have you been in IM business, how many hours daily you work on your IM projects, and what is your monthly income from IM.

      What's the value of unverified information from a self-selected group of people you don't know? What kind of "statistics" can be compiled from that?

    It is a guest lecture for high-school kids, and I know i won't have any real metrics, but surely, I'm not going to show them faked poll results. Like you said, why would self-selected group of people fake their stats, when they are not obligatory to participate in the poll?

      In some cases, because they're posting in a marketing forum with "make money online" advertisements in their signature-files, based on income claims, perhaps?

      That's putting it mildly.

      How many of the overwhelming majority here who are earning almost nothing/very little do you think will select themselves to reply to you at all? If you're an intelligent enough guy to have been invited to do a guest-lecture for high school kids, then surely you can appreciate that this is nowhere near a valid method of collecting "information" at all?
