Why you should not use your personal email for optin in freebies

I have just encountered a real issue with a wannabe spamreprenour and I want to warn you all people about this fashion coming to the town.

If you have been on this scene for a while you already know that "easiest" way to make money online is email marketing. But there is just one hurdle for that easy way.
"You need to build a list."
I know you already know it.

But here is a shocking truth that you may not know.
Some people found a way to by pass list building phase.
How?
Easy , they buy it.
Did you know there many so called email brokers that buy and sell your email and make money from your email? Yes that is free money for them but you pay the bill by getting spammed! And the bad part starts there, when you start to get crazy amount of spam.

Let me explain what I mean by crazzy amount of spam cos I do not think you would see something like this.
I have just got about 40 emails same day from a spamreprenour!!
He was literally sending emails every minute ..
I was just like "WTF". "HOW on earth there could be a person that believes he could literally spam the same email more than total of the standart spam emails one could get and then he would practically hope to make money from it."
Who the heck gave him this marketing advice?

But for me that was a good lesson to not to use personal email for any freebie optin.
Literally when you enter your email in any form you are just giving your contact information so never use your personal email for optins.

This can really save your from possible IM spam.

So is Warrior Forum a place for some big flashy boys trying to bully newcomers?
Could this behaviour be one of the main reasons that newbies search for more democratic forums even though their names are darker than Warrior Forum?

This is "main internet discussions" section right?

I am exactly using the term "Why you should not use your personal email for optin in freebies" on my threat title. So if you are one those multi million dollar guys that already know these kind of "newbie" stuff for ages WHY do you click, read and then come up with useless comments that will not give any kind of value to people reading this thread?

Could one of these commenters show me a screenshot of one their inboxes or their coaching students inboxes getting tens of emails from the same person in an hour?
I am not copying and pasting some paragraph from an ebook or article. I am exactly telling you whats going on with newcomers inboxes.

              I hear you avny,
              You are right.

I guess sometmes some of us old timers get a little cynical because we see stuff that is rehashed over and over again here.

But you make a good point. A lot of Newbies do not know this and do not understand.

The fact is when you Optin to a Free Gift , your name is going to a List where a entrepreneur will be sending you more and more follow ups.

Personally, when you optin to anything that I offer I overtly state the expectations in this " transaction" as I tell the person getting the gitft that it will be delivered to their Inbox as well as a Free E course.

This kind of helps in solving that legit concern you raise about people NOT knowing what they are getting into by optin to get a gift.

P.S. That person you are dealing with is a true Spammer and has no business doing business on the Internet !!

Thanks for your comment Andrew but I would like to explain what I tried to tell was way worse than that.
I am sure many people know and got used to be sent promotion emails from the person that they got free gift.
But what "if" this person sells your info to a broker and this broker sells your info to many spammers. And then what if some of these spammers goes wild and send you hundreds of emails in a day??
This would practically render your inbox unusable.

Not only that, but when you buy something, open an account with a vendor, use online banking, subscribe to a magazine, pretty much anything where you are asked to enter your email address.

Just read the TOS, and buried somewhere in the privacy policy will be language saying that they will share your email with "select third parties" or "select marketing partners", both of which usually mean "whoever rents the list."

For others, Ginene is correct. You should have, at minimum, three email addresses.

Because these negative commenters could literally make any newbie leave the forum and never look back.I did not because I know this forum have really good people also and I do belive what I am doing is right. Warrior Forum is not built for them bragging about their selves.

When you get a lot of bounces back to your autoresponder it is because your email address is being spoofed. This means that a spammer is using your email address as the from email address in the emails that the spammer sends out.

That way, when there is a bounce it comes back to your server or the autoresponder server. The only fix that I have found for this is to delete that email address and use a different email address. That way the email address does not exist and the bounces have no where to go.

You should delete this email address as soon as possible so your IP or domain are not black listed.

I hope this has been helpful,
      Steve Yakim

      ...or your "Big Boy" pants.
Now it is confusing , are you trying to say "newbies should fight back" or "blackhat sites are more newbie friendly than Warrior Forum" ?

And what do you mean by "Big Boy" pants?
Accepting negative commenters as trolls and just smile?
      Fighting back to negative comments?
or just assume everyone here is posting for the sake of posting their sigs and do not take it personal?

You should have at least 3 email accounts with 1 for personal use, like banking, etc, 1 for family and friends, and 1 for spam emails, contests, enter your email to see this etc.

If you came into a Automotive forum and said "Hey everyone, just a heads up to keep an eye on your gas gauge because if it reads Empty, your car won't run".

You would get a similar reaction.

"Big Boy" pants means "grow a pair" and stop crying because someone doesn't pat you on the head like your mommy does.

You don't have to smile at Trolls but freaking out makes you look foolish and satisfies the Troll.

Why fight back against negative comments? Why not put your "Big Boy" pants on and ignore them.

    I don't have a sig.

    pro tip:

i know many marketers use gmail. here is a simple trick with their system to help you filter spam very easily since many of the change their from address or server they send from to make filter difficult.

    say your gmails address is
    joesmith@gmail.com

if you enter :joe.smith@gmail.com into web forms, (notice the period i added) then you still get the email as if it were just joesmith@gmail.com

gmails system doesnt recognize the extra period as a different email address. its basically invisible to gmail from a receiving mail standpoint....but not from a filtering standpoint

now if you need to filter out those emails, just create a filter with all mall to joe.smith@gmail.com and it will magically be filter.

you can create multiple synthetic gmail accounts using this technique

    j.oesmtih@gmail.com
    jo.esmtih@gmail.com
    joe.smith@gmail.com
    ....

they all go to the main joesmith@gmail.com but allow you filtering options.

this also makes testing things easier because these are actually different email addresses. so you can signup to the same thing using multiple (.) placements to test signups and stuff out.
