Hello, I hope I can help you. See if the steps work for you.

1.You can upload the PLR ebook. If you have hosting ready, then just upload it there.
    2.Copy the link ( http://yourwebsite.com/freebie/PLREbook.pdf)
    3. Then on your autoresponder, you can write your Welcome email and include the link to the free PLR in that email.

Your over-thinking this waayyy too much. Just upload it to your hosting server, dropbox, or whatever and link to it, pretty basic stuff....

When you're just starting out, it's totally understandable to be frustrated.

The best thing to do is not overcomplicate things.

    Look at it this way.

You have a PDF you want to give away online.

You need to host that PDF someplace, ideally on your own server.

If not there, then Google Drive, Dropbox, etc - places like

10 file-sharing options: Dropbox, Google Drive and more | Computerworld

So let's say that you've loaded your files to

    http:// A Site Online . com / Yourfilename.pdf

(trying to ensure the above doesnt hyperlink).

You would then on your DL page have text like so:

    and that link would be

    http:// A Site Online . com / Yourfilename.pdf

    https://www.dropbox.com/en/help/167
How to Share Google Drive Files or Documents

    should help and
How to Upload and Link to a PDF File (or PDF Ebook) in KompoZer and Nvu (thesitewizard.com)

    is targeted directly to Kompozer.

    Best of skill!

Hmmm I remember asking this same question 15 years ago. deja vous

the answer then was simply upload a pdf and link to it, because browsers download any file that isn't http or php

So any file ending in .PDF would automatically be downloaded, that however is no longer true

Browsers now open .PDF files, so you have to include instructions for the customer to right click on the link and choose download.

The quickest work around is to add the PDF file to a .zip file. This has two advantages

first that file prefix still wont be opened in a browser and will automatically be downloaded on to the customers desktop

and second by using a zip file you can add in other files, like a bonus report, or a recommendation for another product, or even a sales pitch for the upgrade etc.

You can add the argument "download" to the pdf file and it will force a download instead of opening the file. I only know this because I was tired of people writing to me and telling me they couldn't open their zip file, so I found that solution instead.

...and third, your zip file won't be indexed by the search engines, reducing the potential of it being found/downloaded without having opted in to your squeeze page.
