Where can I get quality content for my blogs?

17 replies
Does anyone have a suggestion for where to get good quality content for my blog?

My blog is in the IM niche and I want to take credit for the content.

Should I buy the content or offer a link in return (the blog has good seo metrics)?

    A lot of people do "some of each"?

    There might be some very good content you can effectively syndicate by including a link, but you presumably wouldn't want to do that with all your site's content, and might want to buy or write some of your own, too? (It's normal to be able to take credit for content you buy, because you're normally buying the copyright, not just a publishing licence.)

    If you are in the IM niche selling "MMO" methods or portraying yourself as some kind of expert shouldn't you be creating the content yourself... Otherwise you may come across as just another fraudster...

    The best content for your blog is the unique content you create yourself. This gives visitors a compelling reason to visit YOUR blog rather than anybody else's.

    If you're not up to creating this yourself, hire a freelancer to do it for you from freelancer.com, elance.com or guru.com.

    A few sites like Problogger offer job boards where you can advertise.

    Place ads there to attract professional, experienced writers who can offer the content you seek.

    Also try networking on high ranking, authority blogging tips themed blogs. Most of these bloggers offer freelance writing services or their readers offer freelance writing services. As a ghostwriter myself I know that hanging with respected, experienced folks is the way to find skilled ghostwriters.

    1 point; build up your name, your rep and your brand before you'd expect someone who can create quality work to give you a free work in exchange for a backlink. Pay money now for pro services which will accelerate your blogging success or pay in time and energy building up links through your own networking and content creation efforts.

    All the best!

    Hey Peter,
    I know there are a lot of bloggers who allow Guest Posting. Some get to the point that they leave it ALL up to Guest Posters to build their blog.

    I recently noted in another Thread Kid Blogger Carl Ocab does this.

    Not really sure how effective it is.
    But you might check it out

    Odesk, expect hundreds of people to apply to your jobs, you can interview and give tests to each one and keep narrowing down til you find the right guy, or gal!

    If you have copywriting experience, then I would suggest you to write your own otherwise hire a freelancer to do that on behalf of you.

    Even though, if you write content for your blog, that's the best you can offer your visitors. You can also hire writers from elance or freelancer. Depending on your niche, you may find some very talented people.

    If you do hire a good writer, the really good ones are not cheap. However, if you are looking for 'copied' content or 'spun' content, those type of writers are a dime a dozen.

    Do your research & make sure that you find a really great Ghost Writer. Also, if you do this route, make sure that the writer writes similar to you. Your type of writing style.

    Finding a great writer is a learning curve in itself.

    I prefer to do my own writing. That's just me.

    Write it yourself!

    Odesk is cheap, you could also try one of those freetrafficsystem sites where you submit your blog and people write content - they do have a catch though.

    Whatever method that doesn't take time or money will have a catch. But odesk is cheap if you find the right out sourcer. I would also look at the warriors for hire section of the forum, sometimes you can get great deals there.

    There are several ways you can get content for your blog, here are some of them:
    - you can check out some freelancer websites, and pay someone to write articles for you. All the content, once you pay for it, is yours (you can do what you want with it);
    - you could write some articles yourself, even if you're only able to update your blog once a week or even less, at least they are your own articles;
    - have you tried getting people to guest blog? Lots of people will be glad to write for you in exchange for a link or a small sum of money, or even for nothing at all! Many people will actually write for free, just for the joy of writing in a blog
