Launched a product, what's the best way to find affiliates?

The product is a keyword tool for youtube, called VideoCents. How should I go about finding affiliates to promote it? Is 48% of $70 enough for commissions?

    For the serious, pro-affiliates, payment reliability is going to be a huge issue: many will be willing to look only if it's through some network like ClickBank where our commission payments are guaranteed: the most serious affiliates are the ones unwilling to be dependent on a vendor they don't know, for their payment (nothing personal at all, needless to say: it's just a problem we "just don't need" and can so easily avoid);

    What matters is having everything tweaked, tested and proven to convert targeted traffic before looking for affiliates. Explained in more detail here (and these links may help you, also): Have an affiliate product - how to find affiliate marketers in my niche?

      Wow, man. Awesome post. Clickbank is an excellent idea. I'm going through the links you posted in the other thread.

      It never crossed my mind that fear of non-payment is a potential issue. Do you have any horror stories?

    List your product in Warrior+, CB and JVZoo. There are a lot of affiliates there.

      I'm superstitious against multiples of 5. Seriously though, I used 50% years ago on a different project and we had no problem getting affiliates, and was killing it, paying $8-10k/week in commissions. My partner at the time was handling the affiliate recruiting. I just figured 50% was a superhigh commission rate, but I guess that's just standard nowadays. I went to 48% because I saw Market Samurai uses 48 and it basically covers the transaction fees.

    Strange percentage, but earning close to $35 per sale is reasonable (needs to be assessed in relation to competition).

    What you want to do to kick start things is to begin approaching potential partners (find leading websites, forums, bloggers, social networking personalities on Twitter and Facebook) and approach them as long-term partners. That is, get to know their business, propose a way you can provide them with value (content, connections, a referral, etc...) and offer them a complimentary review copy/access to your product. Have promo pieces they can use - you will get some good partners this way.

    Sitting back and waiting for them to find you is least effective.

    Rock-bottom for me and then only if it's a vendor I know has high converting funnels.

    A lot of people offer 75-100% on the front.

    You need to offer a higher percentage to attract affiliates, especially since its a new and
    untested software and then you can offer some related products on the backend with
    some one time offers.
