Is this legal?

Hi,

I'm looking to create an online store for my blog. Selling some t-shirts and slowly add some items as I go.

I have very little money so buying initial stock is an issue so I would like to know if this method is legal.

I like the items here I Don't Like Cricket T Shirt

Would I be able to use all their images of products, create an online store with them and increase the price so I make a profit. When I make a sale I purely use the money from sale to buy the stock i need from the website!

Firstly is this a viable and reasonable method, and secondly, is it legal to do that?

I'm sure the website wouldn't mind as they still get the sale at the end of the day.

Thanks for the help.

  • You can't just take their images and use them on your own website, especially for commercial purposes. That is a fast way to land yourself in legal hotwater.

You could approach them though and ask them if they have an affiliate program.

I take that back - they have a link right here: Affiliates

or follow this link here: Become A Partner

Work with them and partner up with them, but don't just blatantly take a photo from their website and call it your own and mark up the price. That is just bad business all around. I just spelled out a couple of links as to how you can create a real win-win scenario that is built on trust.

    • Thank you for clearing this up. I will email them now. Thanks for directing me to those links!
  • Definitely use the affiliate path, rather than using their images without consent. Also allows you to focus on traffic generation and maximising your return.
