Affiliate managers making it too hard to promote!!

Am I the only one who is sick of affiliate managers making me jump through 5 hoops before I can even access their bloody banner ads! I mean, seriously, I'm looking for 3 affiliate programs to promote on a new blog and need 1 banners and 2 125s. Do you think they would make it easy to promote them? Forget it. I can't believe that products listed on clickbank, where I can instantly get an affiliate ID still require me to apply to their affiliate program just to get a stupid 125x125.

Affiliate managers please note: I'm a marketer! I don't want to be on you list. I'm not your customer. I shouldn't need to apply to join your affiliate program just to get access to your banners (and for goodness sake, what do you need my home mailing address for!!!)

Just help me out and I'll promote your stuff and make you some money. Stuff me around and I'll just promote someone else.

Bitch & Moan Over.

That's an interesting point of view.

Do you think product owners have no responsibility to ensure that people promoting their products are doing so in a reasonable and lawful manner? Admittedly many of them don't care but I don't quite see how you expect to get paid if you don't join the affiliate programme.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

I had a problem with Iwantu. They put my payment on hold due to fraud problems. I only used SEO for my websites, nothing blackhat, so I didn`t really understood that part. But anyway, they said I will get the payment that was put on hold when I`ll make my next minimal payout, which is unfair I think cuz they didn`t even prove the so called fraud to me or even mailing me about it. I myself mailed them about the payment hold several times and received answer after over a mounth. And I never had this kind of problems with the old ownership.
I seriously think if I should continue working for them.

Personally I don't mind a mailing list optin. One of the guys who I promote regularly sends out stuff to help with the promotion (which I'd have to keep checking back to his site to find otherwise) and details of new stuff to promote (his and presumably stuff he's 2nd tier for but I don't mind).

But yes, apart from that I want it to be as easy as possible. I quite like the RAP model where affiliates can sign up if they want tracking and all that jazz but if they just want to drive traffic and ship $$$ they can.

i don't mind signing up for affiliate updates...but don't fill my inbox.

i recently signed up for a specific product on CB, and within a week i had to filter it out to cut the clutter.

no need to send me five or more emails a day....

AND..i have also come to the point where, if at an affiliate program signup they want my whole pedigree, i just close the tab.

    period.

I won't offer an opinion on the affiliate sign-up. You have to decide for yourself which is more important, a few extra seconds to fill in an email address or the time spent searching for another product.

As for the postal address, if the vendor is in the USA, they likely want to know where to send the appropriate tax forms should you be successful enough. If you were in the USA and earned over $600 in commissions, the vendor would be responsible for reporting that income to the IRS and providing you a copy of the form.

Hope that relieves a little of the pressure...
