As the owner of the blog, you are the one who sets the terms and conditions, so whatever you decide is what the TOS is. There are a couple of big items concerning who has ownership of the content provided, the number of links back to the writer's sites, your right to edit their post as you see fit and if the content is going to be exclusive to your site or can they use it another place.

Look for other sites in your niche, or even related areas of interior design, remodeling and building and contact those you like asking if they might be interested in getting a link back to their site in exchange for them writing a piece for you.

You can set the terms by looking at what other blogs that offer guest posts. Change it to match what you want like quality, length, topics, etc. You can Google up several of these blogs and see. Alternatively, you can direct ask blog owners of the same industry to see if they are interested to post on yours.

Having a blog may keep your visitors longer but depends on the quality of the posts and other factors. Many companies have their own blogs but not many have good blogs that people will read. You can check out and learn from the ones that are doing really well with their blogs like their style, strategies, etc.

    Here's a tip...

Published authors are pretty much always looking for ways to publicize their books. Find books/ebooks on Amazon with good reviews, especially those by indie authors.

Shoot them an email asking if they would be interested in doing a guest post for you. Most of the time, the terms are allowing the writer an author bio or resource box with one or two clickable links to a page of their choosing at the end of the article. You can also negotiate parameters like post length, exclusivity, acceptable link targets (I don't allow links to affiliate offers or sales pages, for example), live links within the post, and whatever other conditions you think you need to impose to maintain the standards of your blog.

And when they do submit a post, don't feel forced to publish it as-is if it doesn't meet your standards. It may be their post, but it's your digital property.

On the flip side, don't make the conditions so draconian that no one wants to post.

contacting other sites in your niche would be a good way to go, so would offering it on a forum like this one

It is possible that will keep them on the site longer, the posts need to be interesting to someone who is not a carpet expert, but someone who is coming by to find out about carpet and to read stories about how your company helped another person in their quest for good carpet.

It's possible. But don't make the goal to simply keep them on the site longer. Make the goal something that will benefit your business as well as the customer.

Capturing email optins should be a priority.

      • TronDigital,

Yeah, contact authors / bloggers in directly and laterally relevant niches. Tell them how much you like their work, your interest in publishing a guest post from them on your site, the benefits your target audience will get from their guest posts, and the benefits that they will get from having a guest post published in your site (traffic and relevant links). Of course, mutually agreeing on a specific set of terms for the guest post is basic; and

It's possible. Perhaps post stories of customers and the carpet designs that they got for their specific interior design projects (include HD photos if possible), i.e. John Doe of Scotland and his minimalist carpet design for his bachelor pad, Jane Doe of London and her retro carpet design for her design studio, Peter and Emma Smith of Paris and their cartoon carpet design for their children's playroom, etc., as well as posts that showcase the variety of your available carpet designs for specific interior design ideas (include 3D HD photos), i.e. Elegant carpet flooring designs for small offices, creative carpet flooring designs for art studios, etc. Also:

You can post an attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling opt-in offer for your target customers in your landing page, i.e. A compilation / brochure that showcases your 3D HD photo designs for specific interior design ideas with descriptions, pricing and discount vouchers; and

You can also include in your blog posts a compelling call to action with a link to your opt-in offer...

    google "interior design" "guest post"

if interior design has a more broader cousin then use that (e.g. diy)

have some good content to show these guys what you can do.

I'm going to save you all the BS and head ache of find a guest blogger. First go to google and type in exactly as you see here with quotations: "yourniche + guest blogging" remember to replace yourniche with what ever your looking for guest blogging about. That is it you'll find hundreds of thousands results.

Do not complicate things this is simple. But it still your choice what steps you choose.

Reach out on forums and other blogs It's probably the simplest thing you can do to find guest bloggers.
Also, does your blog get enough traffic? Post an announcement or publish a post saying you're looking for guest bloggers and make it featured, I'm sure many people will love to have an opportunity to get their ideas published

An alternative is to hire a writer, paid per post, who will produce content to your specifications.

Here are some advantages to this approach:

      1. You don't have to spend time looking for guest bloggers every time you have need of content.

      2. You have more control over quality. This is linked to timing. A reliable, well-chosen writer that you hire will
deliver the content when you want it and you can be sure the quality will be acceptable. If you're relying on guest bloggers
you might have to wait a while before you get what you want. You aren't in control.

      3. Your blog/website content will have more consistent continuity of style if it's written by one person.

      4. There is nothing to prevent you having the occasional guest post to add variety.

The main disadvantage to this is that you will have to pay for content. This isn't as bad as it seems as the better guest bloggers
      will want payment also.

Hi, this is a great question and a great Topic. if you are able to find the right Guest Blogger, you'd also send more free targeted traffic to your site thanks to him/her. Google your niche and find articles from very important sites. Find out the authors, do a research on social media and discover if they have a lot of followers/friends/fans. Contact them, offer them some money for guest posting/article writing and then ask them to share the article with their audience.. you'll get a lot of visitors and you'll pay your investment very soon.
    Hope that helps

Hi! Hang out on authority blogs like Problogger.net. Find authority bloggers through comments. You can advertise on the job board too but nailing down stellar guest posts - many commentors on PB are freelancers/ghostwriters too - can help you find quality guest posters for your blog.

Also know that a few folks responding to this post are likely freelancers too. (hint; bees to honey)

Expect to pay rates of $50 on up for a 500 to 600 word post to receive content that'd drive traffic to your blog.

    All the best!
