How long is your sales funnel?

I think the best question to ask would be "How many products should I have in my first ever funnel". No use in people telling you they have 8 products when you haven't got 8 products of your own to sell.

Start small and build over time. My first launch was a $7.95 - $9.95 front end dime sale. The OTO was $37, and the downsell if they didn't take the OTO was $17. Simple 3 product funnel.

There are guys out there with 6-8 products in their funnel, but you don't want too many or buyers will get really p*ssed off if they seem to get trapped inside a never ending funnel.

Downsells are not unprofessional at all. What makes you even think that ? As long as your products are complimentary then there's no problem. Just follow some rules and you'll be OK.

First, never create an upsell that the user must have in order for your front end to work. Front end should be a working method, and your OTO's and upsells should compliment the front end by making it slightly easier or giving faster results. If a buyer doesn't take them then the downsells could be things like "cut down" versions of the OTO's.

Pricing - Nobody can tell you that without knowing what you have to offer. Just don't go from a $7 front end directly to a $197 OTO. You need to build up to that as you go through the funnel.

The great thing about product creation is that you're constantly building assets. The more products you have - the easier it is to build bigger funnels in future because you have products and their sales pages ready to go. A good few marketers out there seem to always have the same products as OTO's and up/downsells in every product they launch.

Not long enough! I don't upsell enough

I have a very powerful sales funnel that is Pre-Made. I leave all the conversion details to a professional systems creator. He is the 'big daddy' of systems creation. Google trends has reported 'his' last system as being 'one of the highest converting systems' in internet history.

Nowadays newbies are trying to create sales funnels because other people are telling them to do this.

Give me a break.

I am not new and still wouldn't be creating my own systems. I would much rather 'focus' my time and effort on generating 'targeted' traffic to funnel into my powerful pre- made system any day.

That's just my prerogative. Do what works for you.

Very good questions. I have one upsell and then something I call profit maximizers. So in total I really have four upsell. I also have one downsell in my funnel but I use this as a lead magnet only e.g trial offers works like a charm.

$10 front end> $1 downsell> $47 Core> $27 downsell> $97 upsell> $47 downsell> $997 upsell>$297 downsell.

Twice as long as half it's length.

This. Only testing can give you an answer. Niche, traffic source and other factors will figure in. There is no "right" answer.

No, they are creating sales funnels because that's how it works. How do you sell something without a sales funnel??

A "Sales Funnel" is simply terminology. If you post a single link that leads to a single affiliate sales page, that is a "sales funnel."

In the interest of tying all of your questions down into one answer - try viewing your 'sales funnel' as your entire business. Or, make it your entire business. If all you ever have is one product, great! That's your business, go knock it out of the park!!

Something to consider, because others do something doesn't mean you have to, likewise. And I realize in that statement I open up myself to the 'we do it because it works crowd.'

My sales funnel is super basic. I have a collection of products that i promote to my email list. I typically don't promote them anywhere else (except for kinda on my blog). But basically, when someone buys from me, they automatically go into the next backend product email sequence. And the same for the other 5 of my products. Super simple sales funnel... no upsell - no downsell. I'm just looking for a buck... not too interested in a buck + 1/2. That's why i offer consulting services. This is what really makes me successful.
