I have the idea to let people comment with their business idea. Then I will select one person who I think has the best business idea, and they'll get the whole package for free. All other customers pay the standard price (which I haven't decided yet).

My question is this. Should I require all interested to pay for the WSO upfront, and then I'll refund the winner of the free package? Or, should I let them choose whether to pay upfront or enter the giveaway first and then buy if they don't win?

Free WSO's are not allowed, any more.

(You can advertise a free product in the Classified Ads section, but there's usually only a fraction of the traffic, there).

I think it doesn't say anywhere that you can't do what you suggest, by charging up-front, and giving a "winning contestant" his money back later. It strikes me as rather a complicated plan, and one that could possibly even have some legal implications, though (there are laws and regulatory considerations about "competitions with entry fees and prizes", aren't there?). You might need to discuss it with the forum Admins, first.

    Hey,

I have done this in the past to gain trust and testimonials for Squeeze Funnel creation service and I offered it for free to 3 Warriors.

What I have done is I have posted a "reviewers wanted" thread in this section http://www.warriorforum.com/wanted-m...king-hire-you/ with some requirements like 200 posts minimum, 2 years old profile and so on and I have just chosen 3 of all applicants.

It worked well for me as all of them have appeared as testimonials and work examples in the same way on the sales thread.

Well, I definitely wasn't planning to offer the WSO for free to everyone. Just to one person. Or do you mean by saying 'free WSOs are not allowed' that I can't let people enter the giveaway without paying upfront?

If I'm interpreting correctly, what you did is slightly different to what I plan to do. You opened your WSO to people for free before officially launching it, for the purpose of getting good reviews and testimonials? I plan to offer it for free to one person at the time of launch for the purpose of generating interest. (after all, it's a crowded marketplace)

What's your opinion on requiring customers to pay upfront or not?

I was just letting you know that the forum no longer accepts "Free WSO advertisements". For that reason, and because of the possible legal/regulatory implications of what you suggest, I think you should probably be discussing your plans with the forum Administrators rather than asking members what they think about it. Especially since threads in the Main Marketing Forum drawing attention to forthcoming WSO's are so frowned on. Just my perspective.
