Anyone tired of the video gaming niche?

I'm thinking of entering into this niche, found that it's insanely popular but also insanely difficult to make heads or tails of because of the saturation. More often than not the way people behave on their videos are downright rude and profane. And it gets a lot of views. I'm not trying to judge, but I just don't understand that kind of humor becoming so popular (Pewdiepie #1 channel on youtube?). Being a fan of games myself, I'm trying to make a business model out of promoting creativity and fun (I don't believe screaming your head off and adding the f-word to every second sentence calls for much originality), but without a network, hardware, skills, not sure where to start. Is the world only interested in mindless zombie killing nowadays? Let me know what you guys think, as I'm trying to obtain some quality material for a channel / website.

I agree that the juvenile level of discourse in the gaming niche can be very annoying.

But you don't need to be an annoying juvenile gamer to find success.

It is like any other niche, find an angle, usp or niche way of entering the market and build your following.

YouTube, obviously, is a huge market and game play videos are popular. Twitch is the big gaming broadcast platform but also a huge social network.

You don't need hardware or network skills unless you are entering the 'gaming hardware' niche.

Gaming is such a huge market there are endless ways to build a business.

There are people who make full-time money in a sub-niche of the World of Warcraft - "How to get gold in WoW".

Also, you don't need to be number 1 anything to make a living. You don't have to look at Pewdiepie as your business model.

I would pick an angle or passion within the gaming niche and start building a list around your passion.

I think for twitch.tv, it may be saturated. I was in gaming niche before.
However, in my opinion, you can still do it if you drive traffic from youtube.

I push some volume in the gaming niche. I'll never get tired of it - so much variety. onSubie has given you some excellent advice. I'd take it!

I worked it in briefly and while I had a lot of fun, I didn't feel it was right for me. The main demographic is children without credit cards or broke college students, so it isn't the easiest to make money selling products in my opinion. CPA worked well while I was in it.

One thing to note is that you as the blogger/gamer/marketer are actually MORE important than the game itself if the purpose of your work is entertainment. Your subscribers watch for you, not for the gameplay. That's secondary.

    Best of luck.

I can't entirely agree with the portion in bold. It depends on the gaming market you target. MMORPG, for instance, has an older demographic and they're not afraid to spend money. I could mention other markets, but don't want the competition. Of course, there's also nothing wrong with free traffic. I'll take those $2.50 joins all day long, but I do see what you're saying. Some gaming markets are low-quality.

"Your subscribers watch for you, not for the gameplay."

This I agree with, most assuredly. I don't take this approach myself, but it's very true.

Youtube you can do it. It is insaley popular, but it would take a lot of work and a lot of attention. You would need to upload 2-10 videos a day and you should build up pretty quick.

Video gaming niche is huge, I am currently promoting a software called "WTFast" to WOW and League of legends players through facebook ads and i have a very good %ROI, however i don't promote the software directly i use a squeeze page with a little guide on how to make the games faster and lag free and after they subscribe they get the guide which contains my affiliate link inside, and at the same time i promote some good offers from clickbank to them and it convert really well because i've build trust with them.

A lot of great insights guys, thanks very much. The reason why I mentioned hardware and the like is because I simply don't have the gear to record videos myself. I am aware that it's saturated, but my angle as I have approached from before is fun and creativity, which as a business model has been widely adapted to. The only way I can think of at the moment is to pay others to create for me, rather than create it myself.

Sounds like it's just the nature of the beast. You'll probably have to just develop a thicker skin to tune out the juvenile stuff.
