Tunisia Will Finally have PayPal

Introducing PayPal may put Tunisia's tight trade policy under threat according to the Central Bank of Tunisia, but its prohibition has taken its toll on the people, especially that it's severely holding them back both economically and personally.

Over 15 thousand participated in a Facebook event called "We Want PayPal in Tunisia" to demand PayPal introduction in the country, and a Twitter hashtag #WinouPayPal, or #WhereisPayPal in English, was created to support the movement.
Tunisians believe that PayPal introduction will allow greater access to foreign markets as local businesses face difficulties when attempting to reach customers abroad. It will also enable self-employed individuals to offer their services to countries other than Tunisia.

The campaign is finally receiving initial approval after a meeting took place between a representative from the campaign and Central Bank officials earlier this week. So let's all take a minute to admire the courage of Tunisians for wanting to change governmental practices that can only be described as ancient and outdated.

A good move, but why give all the power to Paypal and make them more arrogant. Why not an alternative for countries not supported by Paypal?

  • We will see..

Is It A Good Move? I Guess..Both Opinions Are Right

    1) People Will Have More Global Business Access
    2) It Might Mess Things Up.

    Nice movement.
