Anybody know who owns this? I really need to get in touch with whoever did because apparently they used an image from getty images and now I need proof of license from the designer.

BUT of course that site is down now.

Help?

    There are tools online available for this purpose.

    Many of the advanced searches are however not free usually and require a membership / payment. One of them would be Whois History - Historical Whois Lookup - DomainTools which offers a free 7 day trial. I suggest you try it. (not an affiliate link).

    Other than that, the "way back machine" is popular. (free)
    Internet Archive: Wayback Machine

    Put in the domain over there and browse through their snapshots.
    (Maybe the toll free number still listed in the old landing page designer site may help).

    Cool I will try that stuff too.

    They want $975 for an image!

    I really hope the designer didn't screw me but I think due to the fact that his domain is now gone, he may have. I just hope he didn't resurface as someone else and is going to screw others now too. Lesson learned, get a copy of the license for any images used by any designer.

      Unfortunately if you don't have a contract then you probably won't be able to do anything anyway.

      Sucks... sorry you have to go through that. I've had to deal with it before due to an overseas team member, also a Getty image. I forget the law firm they use but I responded by letter and they ended up not doing anything. Perhaps try removing it, and writing back to them letting them know the situation. They'll likely not pursue anything, since they seem to go for the low hanging fruit anyway. If they sued everyone that used their images without a license they would be broke from filing fees and lawyer fees lol.
