How Do You Structure Your Day?

My head is spinning.

There are so many things to do to get this business up and running, that I do "a little of this" and "a little of that" and never really get much of anything accomplished.

So, how do you structure your day?

Here's what I wrote in a similar thread:

I've broken it down into the five core areas that generate money for my business. So here's how I structure my week and maintain focus:
    • Mondays = content development (blogging, responding to media inquiries, guest blogging, etc.)
    • Tuesdays = list building activities (creating and monitoring ad campaigns, checking all of my metrics, creating new lead magnets, creating all of the relevant pages for my funnel [such as squeeze pages, thank you pages, etc.], and loading messages into my autoresponder). I also work on webinars, etc. on Tuesdays.
    • Wednesdays = Working on my products. That could mean adding new bonus material for my students, creating new products, planning out the next few months of my launch cycles, etc.
    • Thursdays = Live events. This is the day of the week that I host all coaching calls, masterminds, live webinars, etc. I also alternate weeks so that I can do some in-person meetings in the morning on Thursdays (such as those "grab a coffee" meetings that people seem to love, although I'm doing a much better job of saying no to these)
    • Fridays = Video! This is when I get into the home studio and create all of my video content.
I hope this helps! Definitely sit down and decide what you want, break it down, and then identify the ONE thing that can push your biz forward. Literally just ask "Okay, what is the ONE THING I can work on TODAY to get me closer to what I want to accomplish?" I kept finding the above five things rotated as my one thing, so now I use the week to structure my focus as such.

"Badly", most people would say, I think.

I structure stuff like this in terms of task-lists (some of which includes allocation of work to VA's, which is time-consuming enough in itself), but other than making relatively sure that people whose full-time wages I'm paying always have enough productive work to do, for me, I no longer do anything in terms of "time objectives" at all, now, and am perfectly willing to do things as slowly as it turns out I need to.

Not your "everyday answer", among a group of people trying to "run businesses efficiently", I know, but there it is.

To be honest, everything I do is always dependent on the almost-entirely-unpredictable factor of "How well I'm going to be" on any given day, anyway, so that's the best I can do, realistically. Fortunately I seem to get away with it, for the most part.

    Hi,

YOU must know what the main CORE parts of your business are first.

Then you prioritize working on THOSE for each part of your day.

    Morning - 1 hour on ...........

    Take a break.

Work on ............... for 1 hour SOLID

    Afternoon - 1 hour on ..................

    Take a break.

Afternoon I need to work on .................. - 1 hour solid

    And so on...

You must always write down at least 5 things YOU must work on
the next coming day too before you STOP working for the day.

    This gives you FOCUS.

CLARITY and peace of mind that you're working on the things that
    produce revenues for your business.

I think..This is one of the most critical question... One goes through..when he start to see some success in his or her online business.

    What I do:

I make my to-do list for the next day..just before going to bed. And always make sure...to start with the things which I don't enjoy doing.... (There are many areas of business...which I relatively like lesser than others... Like **Article writing**...).

And then in the later portion of the day...I do the usual stuff's like responding to various messages, writing email swipes and other regular activities. This makes me more productive....

    1) Write down exactly what I need to get done the night before.

    2) Do it.

I've noticed a big trend in the past that by writing something down...

The chances of accomplishing it go through the roof.

In terms of structure, it's a list I'll go through in order of importance.

I can relate to your post. With so many different projects, websites, applications and possible directions it's hard to get anything done.

I agree with the above posters that making a LIST is KEY! In the evening when I'm done with work I sit down and make a list of everything I want to accomplish the next day. If I don't do this I find my self in a "daze" doing a little here and a little there. Definitely put your most critical and important items FIRST on your list (I put a star by them) then cross each item off as you complete it. Then at the end of the day transfer all the items you didn't complete onto your next days list, and repeat this process over and over. This helps create FOCUS and when you cross off the last item on a list it feels really good. I also LOG OUT of social media accounts like facebook/twitter once I am done with my posts to avoid the temptation of checking it.

    Good Luck!

Wake up: boot the laptop while I get cleaned up, grab a coffee and see if there are any customers who need help.

Head to the office, see if the customers need help.

Work: (coding, reviewing, whatever I need to do)

Head home: see if the customers need help.

    Leisure time in the evening

Check if the customers need anything one last time before calling it a night.

For me its all about the customers, I have found that if you treat them well they will reward you with their loyalty.

I personally make a to do list before I go to bed laying out exactly what I have to do the next day. I still work so I have to maximize my time the best way I can. No time can be wasted.
