T-shirt production question

Hi all,

Recently bought a WSO about teespring, which has some good stuff but leaves some big questions still. I have no doubt I can work through the traffic side, the copy side and the design side but I don't get the production side.
The Teespring model seems to only cater for multiple orders of the same product which isn't what my customers will want, I can't very well offer a maybe T-shirt...or even imply that their product isn't going to be unique. People want to click and have the item in a few days surely not wait til a load of others order the same Tee and if I miss the MOQ, I'll start losing customers pretty rapidly surely.

Is there another resource for a faster order system, am I missing something within the Teespring offer (higher price point for lower numbers) or do I literally have to make sure my IM is spot on so multiple people are ordering at the same time to fulfil the order requirements?

  • Questions for the WSO seller or Teespring don't you think?
  • I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you trying to make custom t-shirts for people so that no two people ever buy the name shirt? That seems crazy and would be pricey. What you would need is a print-on-demand. Which would be a place that would print and mail your shirt(s) as orders come in. Or you could invest in a print to garment printer. If every shirt doesn't have to be unique, you could look for a white label or print on demand service who will print and hold your stock then ship it out as orders come in.

To me, it sounds like what you want to do isn't what Teespring is designed for. Teespring is great for causes and targeting niches, IMO. It sounds like you're trying to create a brand or a number of different designs to sell in your own shop or in online marketplaces.
  • Not really....or I wouldn't have asked here...don't you think? My question could lead to another resource who is a competitor to Teespring, being a fairly widely touted method around the forum I thought it would have reached the public domain as information. Will pop a message to the WSO seller if nobody can shed any light in this....forum.....place where you exchange information for free sometimes...or is it all just a big funnel for a zillion WSO's? I dunno I'm new here.
Is that how you rack up 3000 posts, with such insightful comment?
  • Hi Gambino, thanks for your reply, yep you're right in your question that is kind of what I'm trying to do.....multiple designs in one place.....no stock outlay.

It's not that I don't want to sell the same design loads, that'd be perfect, but my customers see a flair t-shirt and want it cos it's cool and unique. How do you get round the fact it might not be shipped unless more orders for the same are received?
  • Basically, there are two ways that I know of to do this.

The first would be to upload your t-shirt designs to already established online marketplaces such as SpreadShirt. Basically, various artists upload their designs to the site and people can buy them then SpreadShirt completes the order and you receive payment (minus fees obviously).

The second (and IMO, the better option long term) is to set up your own shop via WooCommerce or BigCommerce which basically hosts your shop then you can tap into a service like PrintAura who will print and ship. There's also services like BigCartel which essentially provide all in one solutions.

Just seems like TeeSpring isn't designed for what you want and these other services are. There's a very popular tshirt forum that can help with the tshirt side of things more so than the marketing forum.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Exactly what I wanted, and suspected. Thank you for your valuable input.
  • Hey Steve, thanks for your question. I suggest, at first place your T-Shirt order to manufacturer, in house stocks, then open your own eCommerce shop on Shopify. Start marketing both online & offline.

  • I suggest SunFrog Shirts. They print on demand.
