How to find software developers?

Good morning Warriors.

I have some simple questions I hope.

I have an idea for a really cool software app (well i think so anyway)....

here's my predicament.

1. where do you find software developers to bring your idea to life?

2. how do you tell people about it, when needed, without them stealing your idea :O)

3. how do you come up with a great JV deal....etc

I'd be grateful for you help.

Thanks for your time.

Warmly

Colleen :O)

I know in Australia and NZ there are developers who handle subcontracting for digital imaging apps, FWIW, though of course there are developers worldwide (Ukraine, etc.). Give Google a workout ;-).

    scriptlance.com

I would think you go about getting JV's the same way if you were to launch an ebook or video course. 50%-75% commission ususally does the trick!

elance.com or odesk.com have tons of developers that can help you. Don't worry about anyone stealing your idea; your marketing is effective enough, they can't market it as well as you can. If you are not an effective marketer already, you need to become one, and that is your best defense against competitors "stealing" your idea. For a great JV deal, just combine your expertise with the expertise of someone in a related field and create a synergism in this extremely niche area....the product should create itself. If you would like more specified info, please feel free to message me.

I've had excellent luck using Rent-a-Coder:
Rent A Coder: How Software Gets Done -- Home of the worlds' largest number of completed software projects

It's kind of neat to put out a proposal and have people from all over the world bidding on your project.

Use a NDA when using the above sites or when revealing your idea.

Just a note: When it comes to friends and people you may know, I wouldn't worry about it. Most people don't have the resources or knowledge to effectively steal your idea. But if it is someone you don't know, definately NDA. E-lance,___lance, renta___...NDA.
