The content should be as long as it needs to be in order to convey the essential information without adding fluff.

So sticking with your format, I would say both. That is what will happen if you follow the above advice.

Your link bait articles are going to be longer than 1,000 words. But again, they shouldn't contain fluff.

500 words is fine is that's all you have to say on the topic. However, it is usually possible to add another section to get it up to 750 words. The trick here is to do so buy adding valuable, on-topic information.

Don't stretch a 500 word article to 1,000 words to meet some arbitrary minimum that an SEO "guru" is recommending.

I think the longer articles will do better, if they are engaging and not just 1000 words because you want to optimize them for the search engines.

    So yeah i would choose 10 x 1000 words.

You also have to consider that most people won't read a 1,000 article all the way through. It has to be something special, or they have to have a burning need.

If your main concern is having content to wrap Adsense blocks in, I guess it's not a big deal.

These days, though, I would focus on building a brand. Just imo.

In a blog I would say 10x1000 but as the other post states if you are stretching 500 words to 1000 then it will be the same and any Marketer will be able to tell and that means your continued business will not be high...

The real key with article marketing isn't how many words the article has but rather how many articles you have out there. More articles means more visibility, but they should be distinctly different articles, not re-spins of the same content.

I think most people prefer no fluff, straight to the point articles. People want instant everything. We live in a microwave society.

I like 800 - 1500 word articles - short enough to read quickly in one sitting but long enough to get into specific details for most subjects.

If you're talking about purchasing articles, I would buy 20 X 500, then rewrite them all adding my own commentary, examples, experiences, etc. so they all come out to be 800 -1500 words. Then you'll have 20 unique articles in your own voice that you can promote. Twice as many as the other alternative and all with your own personality and experience added.

        Good luck to you,

        Steve

  • I think that the 1000 word articles are best..

As long as long article can capture attention, then they should be fine.
