On the whole, you get what you pay for.

Number 3 is what separates the successful from the also rans and it's probably the hardest to maintain. "Uniqueness". Plus, it's a fine balance, to be unique - but not so unique you lose touch with what's already working.

I've even talked to seasoned Guru's who have a problem with maintaining their uniqueness over time.

It takes constant vigilance, or you can easily slip back into "look-a-like" products and services, writing "me- to" articles and content, and marketing in an "also ran" (or bland) way.

Some products, services or businesses are so unique they're ahead of their time or market. A large percentage of business failures fall into that category.

I am a total newbie here and I would appreciate some pointers in the right direction, I feel like I have just got a pair of ice skates on and I am standing in the middle of a frozen lake.

Nice share Robert, thanks! I loved CB and hell, I'd comment on their all the time but they pulled 'em months ago. They were overrun by spam I reckon.

As for the uniqueness angle I feel being authentic, and genuine, solves that problem quickly. Release that need to copy by writing how you are. NOT by writing how other folks say you should write. I feel blessed in that I run a fairly unique, one of a kind blog, but it took me a bit to become comfortable being me, to make this branding/blogging perfect storm come together. Keep on keeping on guys, you're getting there, and we'll continue to prosper as we are true to ourselves in all that we do.

    Thanks for sharing Robert!
