If you had just one day...what would you do?

Just a question for those of you who've had some success online thus far:

Scenario:
You have one full day to start a new money making IM project and set it in motion.

At the end of that day, you need to leave for a month and cannot touch the project.

You have the ability to create websites, write articles, conduct keyword research, etc.

You cannot hire someone to manage it for you for the month. It needs to run by itself.

What would you put in motion?

Example - this would be a long day, but:

1. Find a product on clickbank
2. appropriate keyword research
3. Buy a domain
4. Create a quick sales page

- have lunch

5. host and test the page
6. buy traffic/ppc
7. write a few articles or blog posts
8. Submit the articles to multiple sites using software.
9. Create a video of the sales page
10. Submit the video to multiple sites using software.

What would you do?

Me? I'd pack -- suck on a couple of beers, and worry about it when I got home.

I would create a short report of about 30-50 pages with some valuable info, throw some good quality PLR bonuses with it, build a minisite, send an email to my list, and submit it to clickbank for affiliates to promote it, and then pack my bag and off to wherever that may be for one month.

          Wow!

Here on Earth we only have 24 hours in a day, and we humans have to sleep (normally 7-8 hours per day). We also only have two hands and ten fingers for typing - we haven't invented direct neural computing yet.

I think this is the best answer so far..I'd like to give it a twist though..

10 page report - on the hottest tip I know. One to Two hours

PLR bonuses from some of the Warriors here..a lot are available just for signups.. Another One to Two hours

Minisite - make sure to get an existing template and revise - Max 4 hours work.

Then yups submit to clickbank for affiliates to promote and also do a WSO

1 day max - Can be!

I hope somebody is doing this right now..Otherwise it's a waste..

@Kelly Verge If you know what you are doing and what info you would like to put in a short report of 30 pages, and when you have a typist with a speed of 70 words per minute working for you then all you require is to just dictate it to her, and within 40-70 minutes with 5-10 minutes break in between, your short report will be ready.

Maybe it's not for those who need to write/type a report themselves but like cypherslock said you can do it with the help of Dragon Naturally Speaking, or you can write a 10 page short report like rapidscc said in his post. But the main thing is that one can do it if one really wants to do it.

this is a "trick" question since barely ANYTHING in IM happens overnight. But if i had one day to do something i would probably try to set up a PPC campaign on adwords to some simple landing page, CPA or clickbank. After i found a promising and cheap keyword

But failure is already in the making since such would also need constant monitoring and tweaking...and you CAN also lose money. Since you are forced to do this in a rush i dont think the chances for success are too good.

And yes, basically everything what you outline in that plan.

Alternative: Scrap PPC ...and instead spend a few hours writing good keyword optimized articles and submit like mad...

1 day? I hate doing things in a hurry, but
if I would go away for a whole month and
had to set up a money making system to be pulling
cash in, I'd just spend the day with my friends and worry
about business when I get back.

Nice challenge. I don't think it is done in 24 hours (prep time etc) but I just spent 3 weeks in Europe while my membership site ran itself (from delivering the articles which I preloaded before I left), managing the subscriptions and handling the money.

Assuming you have a niche, prepare your material (whether it is articles you are selling, or downloads or whatever) for the period you are going to be away and you are set.

This is not a get rich overnight idea. There is a step by step plan and implementation but once you have it set up you are basically on autopilot.

The best thing about the process is that it is easy to replicate as many times as you wish.

The ultimate goal being something that works for you and your clients 24/7 no matter where in the world your travels take you.

You need a niche, a domain name, a host, good content, a content delivery system (software) and high intention!

    Much success to you.

    Here is exactly what I would do;

    1. Decide upon a niche and buy a domain and hosting.

    2. Make a squeeze page

    3. Make a free report to offer on squeeze page

    4. Join Aweber and write follow up sequence mixing in good content and affiliate promotions. Have it set for an email to go about every 3-5 days.

    5. Create an additional e-book (10-15 pages) about the same niche. It needs to be valuable content but also have a link at the end of it that links to your squeeze page.

    6. Compile a list of all the big fish within your niche. The people who have decent sized lists. Find as many people who have a following as you can. Places you can look include Ezine articles, Youtube, Blog Talk Radio, forum owners, authority websites, etc etc.

    7. Contact the people on the list you've created offering them the second e-book you created. Let them give the e-book away to their list for nothing. Don't bulk email.

A percentage of the people who read the e-book will come back to your squeeze page through the link and join your list. From there they will receive the emails you set up in your autoresponder whilst you are away.

I'm not sure you could get through all of this in one day, however, I'm classifying "one day" as 24 hours of work.

I'd find myself an affiliate product with a decent payout and research 5 long-tail keyphrases related to that offer. Takes about 1 hour.

Then, i'd create 5 free-hosted blogger blogs using the researched keyphrases as subdomains and populate each with 6 posts (50-100 words and a link to your product)
Takes about 4-6 hours if you know what you're doing.

Finally, i'd submit those blogs to several high traffic blog directories and social bookmark the blogs (digg, mixx, propeller, etc). There goes the rest of the day.

With a good product and a bit of clever pre-selling you should see at least *some* revenue at the end of the month.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Hi,

    I would:
    1. By a domain and setup hosting
    2. Do a Test/Squeeze page with autoresponder
    3. Create articles, submit to multiple directories
    4. Create a squidoo page
    5. Do keyword research with word tracker
    6. Setup up campaigns with Adwords
    7. if time, do a Youtube video

    easy.
i would unplug my computer, and go and sell it.
then i would use some of the money to have a nice lunch. finally i would take the rest of the day off.

i personally doubt you could do anything in one day.
but if my life depended on it, i would set up a sales video squeeze page for the most expensive affiliate product i can find, and drive ppc traffic to that page.
my ppc ad would show the price.

not much else you could do.

    Hi,

I would work 24 hours. I have worked round the clock on many occasions so I'd do it again.

I would think of a killer name and buy it. Something like TheBestDealsInLosAngeles.com And I would set up a forum with the URL redirected to the forum with a big header displaying the URL. I'd put some AdSense ads in the header also.

I would print up a couple of hundred flyers.

I would set up sub forums on the forum. Barber shops, Auto Parts, Beauty shops, Pizza shops, Restaurants, Ethnic foods of all kinds, etc etc.

I would charge $150 for a lifetime Ad campaign on my forum and $25 a month via paypal for all who signed up after the launch. Customers would be given log in Info for the forum so they could Post Their Ads.

Here is the 24 hr schedule.

12:01am buy URL and redirect To Forum

    12:06 Set up forum

12:07 Populate forum with posts in each section.

7:AM Go out selling and Sell, Sell, Sell, until 11pm. Minimum sales would be 30 @ 150= 4500 (About every 5th sale would refer me to Mom and Brother and uncle so i'd make 3-5 sales on the spot.) (Also talking to so many people in one day People would tell me what they needed and I'd sell them that and take deposits for another $500. Service to be delivered after a month. I would explain entirely what I was doing and about the one day challenge and get them excited.)

11PM I'd put up a quick WSO on how I made $5,000 in one day and make another $1,000 and change it to how I made $6,000 in one day.

12:01 AM the next day. I'd die for about 12 hours. Then get up and go on my trip with 6k in my pocket.

In 30 days when I got home I would Clean up all the spam in the forum, Kick out all the non paying intruders, give the requested refunds (Probably about $1000) Sell the vacated spots for twice the original price, and appoint a couple of moderators and let it ride.

    Brilliant George!

Thanks for those who contributed and played along. Excellent ideas. Very resourceful.

For those who would roll-over and go to sleep, drink beer and hang with friends because you don't think it's possible or don't want to....don't like to feel rushed, I should have said: what if you HAD to create something in one day. How many ideas would you come up with? There are hundreds.

If I had to do something like this, and only 24 hours to do it?

I'd start with an idea I got from Paul Myers newsletter and add a few things.

      1. Research a currently hot topic - for this exercise, it doesn't matter if it fizzles after the month is up. I want heat right now.

      2. Write up 2 short reports, different but related, on the hot topic.

      3. Look for any affiliate products I can link in the reports, probably via Amazon and/or Clickbank.

(2 & 3 may be reversed, depending on the topic.)

      4. Set up RAP or $7 script with report A on the front end and B as the OTO. Also set up B on the front with A as the OTO. The front ends will be set up with 100% commission.

      5. Since time is limited, and the price will be cheap, I'll write very simple sales letters for each product.

      6. Test the set up - it has to run on its own for a month, so it has to be working before I leave.

In a gun to the head scenario like this, I could probably do this in 6-8 hours. At this point, I'll take an hour for lunch to clear my head and switch gears from product creation to marketing. Say there's 15 hours left when I get back.

      7. Spend 2 hours submitting both products to as many affiliate directories as I can. 13 hours left.

      8. Write and submit a press release announcing the new products and mentioning the 100% commission. # simple releases, about 1 hour. 12 hours left.

      9. Since I picked a hot topic, there should be plenty of news coverage. So I'll work up some searches on Google news. I'll set up an auto-fill blog to post headlines and summaries once per day. Link that blog to Twitter, Facebook, etc. Since I been going at it for awhile, I'll allow 2 hours for this; 10 hours left.

      10. Set up TweetLater to send tweets of the headlines generated by my Google News searches, along with mentions of each report and the 100% commission. Allow one hour, 9 hours left.

Time for another break. An hour for dinner.

      11. OK, article time. I'll check my PLR files for up to 30 articles related to my reports. If I don't have enough, I'll check EZA, etc. until I have 30. Worst case, I'll knock out the difference, aiming for 'good enough'.

      12. Schedule the articles to post one per day to the blog I set up for this promotion. As each is posted, it will get tweeted, etc.

      13. Submit the articles to as many directories as I can in 2 hours.

      14. By now, there's little time left. I'll spend it cruising related blogs, looking for places to leave good comments and linking to the blog.

After an intense 24 hours, I'll leave on my trip planning to sleep through the flight...

[Disclaimer: This plan has not been tested. I put it together as I typed, to see what I'd come up with... ]

Assuming I am not dying and I only had one day to put a project in motion, this is what I would do. This is also not using any previous list or anything I have now, this would be from completly starting over and only 24 hours to do it.

I would to to clickbank and find a popular product with a high gravity.

I would then research all of the sales pages and write down the bullet points.

then I would go to Guru.com and ask a Guru for a phone interview. I would ask the questions I pulled from the other sales pages bullet points.

for example if the bullet point said "What to do to turn a woman on in just seconds"

I would ask the Guru "how could a man turn a woman on in seconds"

After the audio is recorded, I officially have a product, I would then go to kunaki and turn it into an actual cd which is easy because you just give them the mp3 and they do it for you. when you sell the cd they ship it out for you so this is automated.

Now that my product is created I would design a landing page and give away a free video on how to seduce a sexy lady. at the end of the video I would promote the product for sale

I would create a video sales page, and about 10 days of follow up in my auto responder, which is easy, since I only have a day I just rewrite a nice looking sales page and bullet points. Add some mass control tactics in the sales page.

I would also pay someone to transcribe the interview for me, and turn that into pdf and book form. This is all easy stuff with a fullfillment company that will dropship your orders for you.

I would charge 97 dollars for the cd, the print book and the mp3 which about 80 of it would be profit since I have to pay the fullfillment companies to make the stuff and the shipping costs, but 80 is still better than selling it for 27 dollars if it were all just digital

Since I am about out of time, I would then set up a ppc campaign to the landing page.

I would get some text link ads in a popular site related to my niche for a month, I would also use cpm.

This may sound like a lot but it all can be done in a 24 our period.

I would completely rule out PPC as your funds (unless properly managed) won't last and you will have no time to test run the campaign. I see SERPS as the only real option (if that is you can have no outside help)

Write an ebook on a specialist subject (or use a PLR article and package it)
research a closely related keyword that has over 1000 searches a day and less than 100K true competition.
Start creating a killer landing page
    *Have some lunch*
Finish off the landing page making sure to optimize it for the specific keyword
Set up a payment method (Paypal is quick n easy)
Write a large article using DNS.
    *Eat some dinner*
Use something like SENuke to spin the article multiple times and post them at web 2.0 authority sites.
    Take the evening off.

    Day one - no earnings
    Day two - small return
    Day three onwards - profit
