My best guess is that some blackhats with illicit connections got caught red-handed, were banned with their names given to different marketing affiliates and are now taking out random revenge with DDoS and Domain/Server redirect attacks.

At least an email I received from one of my affiliate managers seems to indicate that as the cause, in any event.

When someone tries to cheat using illegal methods and gets caught, depending upon the severity, the affiliate CPA marketers often add their names to a shared blacklist.

If the person or people getting caught didn't get banned for being (an) idiot(s) (or by following bad advice), and instead is/are part of a "group dedicated to intentionally doing illicit and illegal actions" then usually the direct follow up is some sort of unified internet attack on any number of CPA affiliates who have access to the shared blacklist, and may have taken action against the person or people in question.

That's more than likely what has been happening to MaxBounty and a few others this past week.
