For an Email Course - Provide content in the email VS linking to a private page

Hey guys,

When I do email courses I normally just put all the content in the email, that however results in the emails becoming very long.

I saw this thread in the email marketing forum:

Where uwa22 says he is having success with sending people to a private page which has the content of that day in the email course instead.

Has anyone compared the two?

Which do you think would be better?

      Logic would tell you that the fewer steps involved on the prospect's part the better. That would mean placing the course directly into the email.

      However, for a very long course, I agree that sending the prospect to a web page would be preferable, especially if there are graphics involved.

      Email bandwidth could also be at issue if you have a very large list.

    I prefer providing the content in the email. My style. But i believe both methods could work... depending on your niche and what you're trying to convey and sell. I just like the simplest approach. I've tried both.... email content works better for me - even with relatively long emails.

    I'd lean more towards sending them to your site just because I know how much I hate reading long e-mails.

    On the other hand, long e-mails shouldn't be a problem if you're delivering quality content that engages the reader.
