Any free time sheet tracker/monitor programs?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a good program that a specific employee can download/install and basically clock in and clock out at the end of the day so I know what he's working on and for how long each day.

I use Hubstaff currently, which is great, but I need to use something different for this employee, as he gets freaked out about installing something that will take screenshots. You can turn this off in Hubstaff, but that isn't good enough for him.

So, for the sake of not arguing, do you guys know of any programs that will do this WITHOUT taking screenshots?

Thanks.

Do you need something that tracks what programs he is on or just like a time sheet type of thing?

Another solution is to get a new employee...lol. Just thinking outside the box a bit.

:-) I knew someone was going to say that. He has been with my for almost 10 years and is very good. Probably too good, which is why he would prefer to not feel like someone is spying on him. If he wasn't this good, I would definitely be hiring someone else.

Preferably wanted something that tracks what project he is working on.

I use rescuetime.com for me personally. It's more for productivity, but it tracks what is being done and you can set times and such. Even turn adult site tracking off so you don't see what his adult fetishes are. Lol

He could just email you the dail or weekly charts. Or set your email as the one to receive the reports.

    Have you checked Toggl?

I think it does not take screenshots. However, I guess most time tracking apps are designed to take screenshots at random times but you can customize its settings to enable/disable the tracking. That way managers will know if their employees (especially for remote teams) are working or not.

It's a plus feature also if a software can collate all the running apps in the background (just like Time Doctor) so you will also know if they are using a SW to tweak their hours or make bogus computer activities.

Hi, thanks, but isn't togl $5/month? Even though it's just 5 bucks, I'd really prefer free for something as simple as this, if it exists somewhere.

I've checked its site to confirm and it is $5/month.

You may check the sheet I shared above for a list of time tracking software. However, there are no free ones for unlimited users, only for SOLO.

Toggl is free; just sign up and start using it. There's almost no learning curve, and I haven't even seen a need yet to upgrade to a paid plan.

I've been using the free version of Toggl for a year now, and am very impressed. It's very simple, and it's been helping me to get a much better grip on how long things actually take. No need to install any software. Plus their support people are wonderful.

I am not sure if any free app, in this case, will be effective enough. What you could do is not set up a google form for each employee or one for all with just an employee name selector. So employee opens a form and just click submit. It will record a date and a time automatically into a spreadsheet on google drive. In the in the end of the day he does the same and it ill count as clock out. using a simple formula you will be able to get a report in the end of the day. Spend 15 minutes more and you can set up a nice report that will detect daily and weekly overytimes and calculate employees salary. If you need help I think I will be able to find spare 20 minutes.

Hello, guys! I've been using some the employee monitoring software from Spyrix company here. It is a very good one which allows me to track everything I need and record some information too. If you have a need in such a tool, it is the best option for you. They also have a free keylogger which can come in handy too, I guess

Hey Brad, might be a little late in the game here but have you tried giving him admin access in Hubstaff? That way he can be the one to turn off the screenshot feature in Hubstaff, plus he can see exactly what info is being recorded. He can even blur screenshots of he wants to. It's a good way to give your employee a little more control of the situation

I use the help of the personal monitor from https://www.refog.com/personal-monitor/. It helps me monitor the activity on a PC I need to track. It is a very useful and easy-to-use software. I can totally recommend it to everyone here too
