Is Backpage traffic bot traffic?

by Jamesyfws 3 replies
I have been trying out Backpage.com ads to test if some affiliate links convert to sales, and I have noticed that a lot of the hits shown by Pretty Link Lite seem to be comming from i.p. addresses with multiple hits to my links but don't show any referral back to my ads. However, I also see i.p. addresses that have single hits and have a referral back to one of my ads. I know I am new to this type of advertising, but I am not sure if I am interpreting the hits correctly.
Can anyone explain this to me?

I can't say much about your experiences, largely because it depends on your target market and your competition, but when i used backpage to gather clients i only received legitimate leads.

At the time, however, I was not looking at IP's or anything to judge traffic based upon tracking alone. But the actual responses (not just clicks) I got from using backpage were from real people who wanted my services. So, at the very least, the traffic in my case definitely weren't bot hits.

Backpage is the second biggest classified network next to Craigslist I believe at least here in the U.S.A. I know gumtree is very big over in the U.K.

To answer your question no they are not bots ( Actual people! )

Did you try placing a sponsored ad in multiple cities?
