What would be the best way to get advertisers for an Email related website?

I own a popular website related to email. I get over Million unique visitors every month.
MailChimp or other websites like that could benefit by advertising on my website.

How should I go about getting an advertiser? I'm currently using Adsense and it is performing very well but I'd like to see what a direct advertiser would be willing to pay.

    I would check out Buysellads.com, you can list your ad spaces on there, and you can charge advertisers on a CPM basis or a flat monthly/weekly basis for having their banner display in that ad space. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you were thinking, but it's a good alternative to Adsense!

      Thank you for the suggestion but I've seen most websites which use buysellads tend to have no ads.
      Plus the eCPM is lower as compare to Adsense.

      I believe that by directly contacting companies, I will be able to earn more.

    Direct contacting?

    Have you ever considered typing your main keywords into the Google search bar then noting what SERPs result? I would contact the businesses that show up at the top of the results directly, one-on-one, and tell them about your service. Point out why they should be advertising with you.

    This is marketing with laser pinpoint accuracy rather than trying to "shotgun" a large audience knowing that many or most of your prime targets aren't going to notice your message.

    You might also try giving selected companies free access to your service (for a month or more) so you can prove to them your worth. Try to get a few testimonials from email-centric customers so others won't be hesitant to be the first to try you out.

      I have already tried to send an email to Mail Chimp. But I suppose they are too busy to respond. What would be a good way to directly contact the decision makers?

    You should have an "advertise here" button text on your home page or where ever you are getting the most traffic from. If people are coming to your site on a daily basis, there is a good chance that some marketers out there will see your site want to put their ad on it.

    Just make sure that you are telling your potential advertisers how many unique visitors you are getting per day. This will increase the number of monthly participants.

    Direct contacting them would be the best way. It would involve outreach with a sales process where you try to find the decision maker and explain the benefits they'll get from advertising on your site.

    You could offer them one day of advertising for free for them to preview the results they can expect.

    You also want to remove as much of the work and pain point for the advertiser. For example in order for someone to advertise with you they need to make the decision as to where they want to advertise on your site, the banner size, the number of impressions and banner design. You can remove as much of the decision making as possible by offering them packages so all they need to decide is yes or no.
