  • To be honest with you am not sure, but if it was me, then I would change passwords and contact my host for advice.

    Good luck
  • You probably don't have anything to worry about. The returned message usually only means someone spoofed your email address, not invaded your site.

I have over a hundred forwarding email addresses. The aren't mailboxes, just a forwarding address. I still get those same return emails from the forward accounts that don't even exist.

    Don't be too worried.

    • hi thanks for the advice it makes me feel a bit better , one thing i would mention , the addrees that could not be delivered and was returned to me was ,

      cleta-gainer17@parryscope.com

i have sent 2 messages to this address and while i did not get a reply , the messages apparently were delivered , they did not come back to me , thanks again , donar

  • It's an old trick, as mentioned above, of just spoofing your address.

Apart from setting up an SPF record, there isn't much you can do

  • If you are attempting to find the originating IP and you have an email sent to you or forwarded from a bounce, you can find the originator IP in the header info of the original email.

Look for the sent from IP, not the from email address IP.

Then you can just google the IP and it will give you more info about it and possibly how to contact, if the IP info is not private.
  • When this happens to me, I delete the email address I was using in the from email address and create a new one. The problem that can happen from this is that ISPs can blacklist your server.

That is why I delete the email address and use a new one.j

I hope this has been helpful,
