I am looking for step by step course with illustration that explains every thing about landing pages

I am looking for step by step course with illustrations that explains every thing about landing pages.
It is not about how to make them, but how to use them. I can have a designer make it for me but want to know how they are used.
Is it only to build list ? How will this help in sales of the offer I am promoting?
I have read a lot and still can't figure out how this things work.

Landing pages are really just the pages on your site that a visitor lands on. The kind of page you are referring to is a squeeze page.

People make them out to be more mysterious than they are. You want a person to take a particular action when they land on your landing page. it could be that they add in their email address, or watch a video or read a particular piece of content.

Most times, the landing pages that are made have small amounts of content on them, but that does not need to be the case. They can be long form articles or even images.

There's no point in having a designer build you landing or squeeze pages, just pick up a good tool like LeadPages or Unbouce (web/cloud based) or Profit Builder or Instabuilder (WordPress Plugins). All of these allow you to build pages with point and click and fill in the text capability.

Squeeze pages are typically for list building, where there is a brief headline offering something valuable or interesting to your audience in exchange for their email address.

A landing pages is a more broadly defined page that generally describes any page that has a certain purpose or call to action, whether it be an opt in, purchase, or sign up opportunity.

You can see some squeeze pages in my sig, as an example.

You have two routes you can go about advertising any program, websites or products
online. One of which is directly, this is the very bad way, because it is the follow up that gets
most people to join any program or buy any product online, and not advertising your program or sales pages
directly, its why 99.9% of my traffic is always directed to a squeeze page (opt-in page, capture page) and then my
autoresponder goes to work and follows up with them via email automatically. If you are not using an autoresponder in the process, you can never follow up with anyone, so if someone doesn't buy or become a member the first visit, they are gone forever, because you have no way of following up with them.

It doesn't matter what you are trying to sell online, it could be shoes, it could be toilet paper or a make money business opportunity, every page you send traffic to and advertise for, should have a opt-in form on it, that people can put in their information, so they can get more information, so you can follow up with them, and they can ask you questions..Now doesn't that make sense??

Example: Lets say you sent 100 visitors directly to your programs sales page, and this page had no opt-in form on it for your own autoresponder, now 2 people purchased a product for $10.00, so you would have made $20.00

Now lets say you sent that same 100 visitors to a squeeze page first that complimented what you are advertising, and on that page was a form for people to put in their information FIRST to get more information, because they were curious and not ready to buy yet. Now after opt-ing in to receive more information, your squeeze page then redirects to the sales page as well. So not only have you had 30 people subscribe to get more information, but you also still made those two sales.

You now have 30 potential more customers..You can follow up with, and promote other offers to as well. So now not only can you make a few instant sales, you can sell to those 30 people for as long as they stay a subscriber of yours. The bigger your list gets, the more sales you can make instantly at the click of the send button...

Do you now see why some people waste their time marketing and hardly make anything and those that are smart are making a ton of money??

Landing pages are very simple to implement. Though you can complicate things through optimization or split testing, it is primarily used to capture emails. Get your form on there and move on.

Thanks you all for your useful information. I still have few questions:
      1. Are landing pages different from autoresponder?
I registered on traffic wave and they have autoresponder system. Is that also landing page or squeeze page?
      2. How to direct my offer and link with the landing page. This is my main question.
For example I have an zip/email filling form offer on peerfly that might give me $ 2 for each lead, how to link the offer with the landing page so that after the person lands on my page, enters emails then goes to the main offer?

Paul Nicholls has a good Product at W+ that is reasonable priced and can help explain this to you.

But ,yes, a Sq. Page is designed to build a List and eventually you can make sales in the Sales Funnel later on i.e. autoresponder messages

If I direct people to a squeeze page first , then might just click exit and leave and never see the offer I am promoting.
    Isn't it ?

      Yes, that's correct.

And you may lose one or two potential sales that way.

On the other hand, if you don't even try to build a list of your visitors' email addresses (and a squeeze page, as explained above, isn't the only way of doing that), then you may lose the potential for one or two hundred sales, further down the line.

Be aware that almost all the sales you will ever make are going to be "further down the line".

With obvious exceptions like "books from Amazon" (and other items with commissions too small to be worth talking about at all), very, very few people buy anything at their first visit to its sales page. And if you don't collect their email address, their first visit to its sales page is also very likely to be their last visit to its sales page.

Trying to do affiliate marketing without list-building is like trying to fill the bathtub by opening the taps fully but without remembering to put the plug in the hole first. To call it just "a sub-optimal idea" would really be being incredibly tactful!

Almost everyone says this . I have read many comments like this.
Ok, I am convinced to get people first go to my squeeze page to get their name and email. I registered in traffic wave and was told it is among the best list building websites.

My problem is simple. I don't know how to do this. How to do it step by step.
I watched videos on how to create auto responding pages on traffic wave. It is also a squeeze page I think.
Now I will promote and offer and post the link of my squeeze page that I made for this offer. Those who will fill in the short form will then go to my offer page. How to do this ? Is there any video or e-book showing this?

You certainly seem to be determined to assume that a squeeze page is the only way of collecting your visitors' email addresses. (It isn't).

I'm sorry to hear it. In my opinion, you'd be far better off with either Aweber or GetResponse, but I don't think you're ready to subscribe to an autoresponder service yet, anyway. With respect, I suspect that you have the entire "email marketing" learning-curve still ahead of you, at this stage?

Originally Posted by mushmush View Post

      Ok, understood.

The Email Marketing forum will help you.

Appreciate that this is a big learning-curve. Success is not about "taking action". It's about education, initially, so that you can make quite certain you're facing in the right direction before you set out to take action. Not too surprising, surely?

Originally Posted by mushmush View Post

That would be a very bad idea, in my opinion: that would seriously limit the value to you of the list you build. This post explains why. (Partly, anyway - there's more to it than just that, too.)

Originally Posted by mushmush View Post

Walk before you can run, maybe?

I can show you 6 threads which have been helpful to others and - between them - cover most of the basics of email marketing and will at least fill you in on all the main concepts, and get you much better oriented to be able to ask the further, more specific questions you may want to ask ...

      Here they are ...
What are the essential things to know about list building?
Lists: How Long to Presell - Averages
      Website or squeeze page
Where to get reports to give away on opt in page?
      Autoresponders vs. Broadcasts
Sick of Emails Not Being Opened?

You have a big learning-curve ahead of you. I admire your enthusiasm, but I urge you to stop trying to "take action quickly", without first learning and understanding the fundamental concepts of what you aim to do. Please excuse my mentioning this: I do so only because two or three of the statements you've made above fill me with alarm for your prospects, in email marketing, if you don't first correct some of your initial beliefs. I say so with absolutely no pejorative connotation at all, I hasten to add: none of us was born "knowing how to do this stuff"!

    Thanks Alexa Smith.

Not thinking of list building yet.

I thought an e-book would be available to teach this .

What I'm trying to tell you, among other things, is that it shouldn't connect to "the offers". You'd lose a lot, that way.

It just connects to your autoresponder service. That service will provide the code for the opt-in box and quickly and easily tell you how to put it on your page, when you're ready to do that. You definitely don't need an ebook for it. Just use a proper autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse, and their knowledge-base will explain it to you in detail, when you need it.

        .
OP you are in a hurry. A real business is not built on content locking and CPA offers or anything that depends on one time traffic, unless you already have a huge base of traffic.

The landing page, squeeze page, optin page is a way of presenting your offer online. And your offer in a squeeze page is your free giveaway, even if that giveaway is only your knowledge in a particular subject.

A squeeze page does not ned to be any more complex than a Wordpress page which say in big letters at the top. I HAVE SOMETHING COOL TO GIVE YOU ABOUT XXX. Please put your email in the box below (or name and email) so i can send it to you and you can start XXX, in less than 5 minutes from now.

Boom, you're done. If somebody really wants what you have to give, they will take that action. If they don't, then no amount of bullet points, images pointing at the optin box or testing different color links is going to make any difference at all.

If you don't know how to code, or you don't know how an autoresponder works, get out of Traffic Wave right now, and get a Aweber or GetRresponse to build your list or send emails or whatever it is you want to do before you put all your effort into building a list and you can't transfer those addresses into another A/R.

I want to start learning CPA and got convinced that I need landing page for more conversions. So where is this training courses on landing pages?

Landing pages can be any sort of page you like. As people keep explaining to you.

I think that you don't understand why, and don't know what "landing pages" and "squeeze pages" are. But I've already given you a link to simple, clear definitions of those terms. I don't understand why they didn't help you, but I'm sorry they didn't.

Squeeze pages have no purpose other than list-building.

I give in, here. I've defined the terms for you, answered every question you've asked, given you umpteen links to further information, yet you're still saying the same thing. I'm sorry that I've completely failed to help you, but we're just not communicating, here, in any meaningful sense of the word. That may be my fault, I suspect, but whatever the reason, I'm clearly unable to help you further.

While I read most the responses and the responses above seem to cover most of what I was gonna say, look at it like this...

You will need a domain name ( your-website dot com)

You will need hosting on a 3rd party server (like Hostgator) where your website files, images, and information is stored, accessed, and displayed on your website (once you've set your dedicated name servers or DNS)

You will need to hire or construct your web design, pages, graphics, etc...

You will need to conduct market research to find targeted buyers or an audience interested in your topic or niche...by which you will eventually be selling or promoting products to

You will need a landing page with an optin form somewhere in or on the page...or a squeeze page to send traffic to

Aside all the. 'Other work' involved concerning content, copywriting, social media profiles, articles, videos, etc... To wit will be used to drive targeted traffic to your website...

You might then be ready for an autoresponder account

An autoresponder is an automated email messaging software that has 2 major functions:

1.) Capture the visitors information through a script running on your website, by which those who optin are then added to your 'list'

2.) The second major function allows you to send 'prewritten and preloaded' emails to those people whose name and email you've collected. This can be manually selected to send messages to all or segmented to o ly specific people on your list.

In essence, as mentioned above... You are nowhere near ready to purchase an autoresponder service, as it's clear you have a big learning curve ahead... Unless you either find someone to work with you directly (like a coach) or work your tail off to understand all-thee-above.

Oh, and when you do have all that figured out...theres the marketing part whereby you must find effective ways to drive targeted traffic, connect with that audience enough to make sales, and create the rest of the sales funnel for the backend sales.

Case in point... This is not an overnight study course... Niether is it easy, nor as pretty as those whove mastered these techniques often make it out to be.

    Good Luck.

    All the Best,

    Thanks art72.

I am indeed looking for coaching . This is why I am looking for basic step by step guides.

Regarding the autoresponder , isn't traffic wave one ? That is where I registered already to learn how this works.

I already have hosting with bluehost and got accepted with few CPA networks. Still doing the basic things , but most of the people here say that taking things into action is the way to learn more,so this is what I am trying to do.

Do you have a specific niche in mind that you wish to target?

You set up a page using leadpages, landing page monkey or similar that gives away something of interest to people in your niche.

The autoresponder code is pasted into the landing page, and then you follow-up with people via the autoresponder messages.

If you want to learn how it all works the best thing is to set up a throw away email address and see what guys like Frank Kern & Ryan Deiss are creating their marketing funnels. It's important that you learn how and where to put offers over and above the basic lead capture.
