No content high rank! What's up with that!

I have an acquaintance who has had his site up for 1 year.

He has ZERO content yet he has a serious number of inbound links. His site ranks 122,000 on Alexa.

He told me that he hired a good SEO guy who does only white hat SEO (white hat meaning= honest).

Am I wasting my time writing articles? Should I be spending my time getting links?

How can he rank so high without content???

    Alexa rank is worthless.

    Anyone can make their site rank high by downloading the Alexa toolbar and then clicking on their site a lot of times.

    SEO is a whole lot more than just linking to a site.
