I was reminded of a marketing principle yesterday that I think many of us forget. I first read about it thanks to marketing legend Gary Halbert.

It's by Marianne Williamson, excerpted from her book A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

My advice: let your light shine in your business, in your marketing, in your relationships . . . in a big way. You are meant to do great things!

I wish you all the best,

Steve

    Excellent quote Steve

I think there are many of us that can relate to this...

We really are meant to do great things, and the only thing holding us back is ourselves!

Yes they did. Coach Carter is one of my all time favorite sports movies and I have memorized this quote because it is very inspirational and heartwarming. Timo Cruz (played by Rick Gonzalez) said this when they were studying in the gym because Coach Carter (Samuel L. Jackson) keeps asking him during games "What is your deepest fear?". But it was somewhat a little different. It's something like this.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. The message is still the same. Shine so that others may shine with you. With your success, you are making others successful.

      Cheers!

I'm willing to bet that alot of the people who read this piece of your great advice could care less about an intellectual "light" that shines on them. They don't even know how to let a light shine on them. They probably just want the money - but don't want to do ALL of the things necessary to make their business a success. Same in their personal relationships LOL .

Steve you said to "let your light shine in your business", and i agree 1,238,238%.

But alot of people have problems in life that make them indifferent about the customers that buy from them. Their problems cloud their ability to think rationally, and they just want the end result: CASH.

Compared to the magnificence of God, most people in the world feel like they're supposed to be mediocre in life.
