How do I get views on youtube

I have started a new YouTube thing.

I would appreciate some feedback,

YouTube likes entertainment, but its the gamers recording their game-play that get the millions of views. I am an old thing. World of Warcraft is not my thing.

I thought I would do a Scottish humour line. I discovered its the views that make money from YouTube. Its a hard game to get started, trust me.

What would you suggest as a subject to capture more views?

regards

Jim

Before monetizing your video channel, build a ready made fanbase. Most people tend to make a new account, make a video and expect views to be flowing in. Do you ever see a video at the top of Google with only 24 subscribers and 120 views? Nope. You need a large start up channel to see natural views coming in.

I suggest you buy YouTube likes, dislikes, views and subscribers from a reputable company. Make sure that they don't use BOTS or any other tool to get you fake results. Once you start gaining momentum i.e. 10,000 views, 5000 subscribers etc, then your video will start getting more traffic coming in. Also, if your video is of humour, then send a link to Reddit and you may get it up voted and on the front page of Google where you get thousands if not millions of free views coming in. Your channel should then be monetized and you will see dollars coming in for every 1000 views.

If you can't find a reputable business to get social media services, contact me via PM.

If you want to have your account banned. Tagging on "from a reputable company" does not salvage this bad advice.

You do not need 5000 subscribers to a channel to get exposure or a top search ranking.

Getting more reviews involves your video having more potential exposure:

      - Google search results
      - YouTube search results
      - Video appearing as a related video for other videos
      - Embeds of the video on external sites

Each involves different tactics, such use of keywords in various places, but having this foundation at least gives you a place to start tackling the views issue.

      .

I have a 50k sub channel and doYouTube for a living and wow, this advice is absolutely terrible.

Buying likes and views etc is a waste of time. At best, nothing will happen at all (apart from the view counter going up) but most likely you'll get your channel banned and unable to start another one and if you have an adsense account conncted, that will get banned for life too. There is no such thing as a "reputable" company selling likes and views lol. YouTube is owned by Google. Google engineers are very smart and they are waaay ahead of the curve in detecting fraud.

The algorithm doesn't even look at view count or likes in deciding which videos to send traffic to. It looks at watch time and audience retention rates - 2 metrics which can't be cheated. That has been the case for over 3 years.

OP - to get long-term success on YouTube, like everything in life, there are no short cuts:

-make good content (HD quality and excellent audio) - your videos should be between 5-10 minutes Choose a subject you know a lot about and / or trending. Steer away from tag videos and challenges because everyone's doing that.
      - upload at least once a week. (Consistency is really important on YT)
-use custom thumbnails and learn how to make them really pop
-collaborate / cross promote with other YT channels. You do a video and talk about another channel and give them a shoutout and they do the same.
-engage with your subs. Try to entice them to comment and make sure you reply and build a relation with them.
-don't spam the comments of other YouTubers. It's a great way to get haters to your channel and get your account flagged as a spammer.

YT is hard work, but the growth can be exponential if you are patient and then it's just a matter of regular uploading.

      Good luck.

Promote on social media, like in facebook groups etc. Don't buy views. THEY DO NOT WORK! Trust me on this..Try commenting on other videos you like by using your channel. This will help to attract views to your videos and channel. It leads to more subscribers as-well.

I agree with extrememan, try to make your comment a little controversial or intriguing in a way that it is appropriate to the video and doesn't look rude or something off. Believe me, it is more likely to get people's attention.

There are some tools available to spy on your competition, and then you can use the same tags and keywords they are using.

Then you need to include the tags of their channel, their video and their account username and also add it into the description and your videos will appear on the right side of videos tha already have thousands or even hundreds of thousands of views.

It takes some time to build up but it works.

Thats a nice idea. I like it! And if your video is great, there are a lot of chances of it becoming popular, when people share it.

Here's an interesting idea: Pay for advertising on Youtube.

Then you can gauge the ball park amount of visitors that will visit your video(s) everyday, what it will cost you, and whether or not it's working optimizing for non-paid (natural) 1st or 2nd slots in the video selection list. How do you plan on monetizing this? Price and marketing time cost-effective?

    - Share your video with as many people as you can as soon as you post it.
The earlier you share it, the more likely it will be to be a YouTube sensation

    - Post your video on Facebook, Twitter, and any other social networking sites that you've joined.

    - Use a blog or a website to promote your videos

The first thing I would do is to find out who your target audience is. You want to know as accurately as possible who you will be selling to, and what you will be selling.

I like to call this identify my perfect avatar.

Who is the person MOST LIKELY to buy whatever it is that I'm selling.

Shrink it down as much as possible (age, income, demographic, location, gender, wants, desires, fears, needs, likes, dislikes).

Once you understand your avatar inside and out, you can market to them perfectly.

Then go find the fishing holes on the internet where that exact type of person is hanging out.

Search for forums, Facebook groups, twitter accounts, blogs, podcasts, etc.

And hang out their all day and share your content with them.

Because you did the proper market research and identified what they want, what they struggle with, what challenges they have, etc.

You can create all the content (videos) that you need to help them out / entertain them / give value.

And you will get quality likes, views, shares, etc.

    That's how I would start.

Share your media "everywhere." There's social media where you can share it to your friends and followers. You can also blog about it. You can comment on other people's channel using the youtube account. You can also share it on appropriate forums and websites that will garner interest from people.

Social media all the way, I recommend you concentrate on Facebook first, build a fan page, or a group, or even both! Get facebook ads, if you have the budget and try to get as many fans as possible.
Other forms of promotion work too, of course, like advertising on YouTube (again, if you have the budget).

hey if you cannot create funny videos (those send you ramdon not targeted traffic), i recommend you to master one niche, create your channel, become an authority on that specific niche and then, monetize it.
    Hope that helps

I totally agree with keeping things simple, just one or two things going on at the start, and bolt on later. Get rid of all distractions if you want to succeed - unsubscribe from all the emails that waste your time - stay of FB unless doing something - ignore the shiny objects - focus down and as Jany says - become an expert. One more - only switch on the PC if you have a task to do. You don't sit in the car all day waiting to drive somewhere...

    Jim,

I see that a few people here have told you to buy views on YouTube while others said that you shouldn't. So who is telling the truth?

The best thing to do in this situation is to find this out for yourself. Do some advertising with them and then after a week or so, see if it works for you or not.

Getting more views on youtube isn't easy, I recommend you follow these steps though for the best results:

    1. Optimize your title
It's important to have a descriptive, interesting title to attract people to your video.

    2. Optimize your description
You must include a good description, explain what's happening in the video generally, include key words that you want people to search for to reach your video. If your video is about government for example include the word "President" 2-4 times.

    3. Optimize your tags
Having good tags is also important, include every word from your title and all your keywords from your description. That will make it so that youtube logs your video correctly and you are higher up on the list of videos for your keywords.

    4. Get Your Initial Views
Most important step actually, within the first week of uploading your video you need to maximize your views! Getting about 100-200 views in the first week can mean the difference between being 5th place in your keywords or 1st. Here are a few suggestions for this step-

*Share the video with your friends and family
    *Share the video on twitter
    *Post a bulletin on Youtube
    *Share the video on Facebook
    *Stumble Upon the video
    *Blog the video

The rest is up to your content, if you get good content then people will share your video all by themselves after the first week and rack up more views for you.

    Are you still unsure?

It's so easy to get a channel nuked, even if you are trying your best to do everything right. Why would you knowingly do something that will result in pissing off YT?
