I own a affiliate amazon website that sells DVD/blu ray movies. I was wondering what you guys think is the best way to creating a list for this type of website.

    I think with this type of site it might be a good idea to use social media, build up some fan pages and then drive traffic back to your site.

    Then let them subscribe to your list to get updates on new released movies.

      Maybe give some sneak peeks of the movie on your pages and some reviews on it.

    How are major sites that sell physical discs doing it?

    I'm guessing they aren't, because nobody wants to join a list about DVD/BR movies.

    Going at it from the entertainment news angle is one possibility, but you obviously wouldn't want to limit that to email. So now it's a question of launching a news site or not....
