I'm just wondering if there are any cons to implementing the GA scripts thoroughout all of my pages?

I would say NO! By using Google Analytics on your blog, you can get insights of your blog(s) and then you can tweak/optimize your blog accordingly.

If you are using Wordpress, then you can use Google Analytics Dashboard for WP plugin.

  • I've yet to run into any. I use it for site demographics and traffic numbers. In concert with Google Webmaster Tools, you can learn a lot about your visitors and how to improve your site.

The only downside would be not being able to be in control over your own analytics software. But unless you're a programmer and care about that stuff, it's not really an issue.

i think its fine... but some people do believe that of you have adsense as well, that G will shave your analytics stats to pay you less.. no idea if its true or not, but did read a supposed "leak" about it a few months ago..

Not sure if this is the case anymore, but there was a theory that by putting G analytics on your website, G has the opportunity to see more information on your website and if your doing anything naughty, could effect you in the rankings and so on. I mean, it makes sense.

I like to use statcounter, they are pretty basic with their free option, but G analytics does have a pretty comprehensive back office.

I would personally avoid using them on your Private Blog Network sites

Honestly, GA is a powerful tool that reveals a lot of insights.

Although GA is a product of Google's, I believe that the Spam team and Analytics are like two separate companies. So by using GA, it shouldn't affect any of your website's ranking.
