Quick question about Clickbank cookies

Hello Warriors. I have a quick question.

I am wondering if Clickbank cookies get overwritten. Let's have an example :

I promote a specific clickbank product on my list. The subscriber is curious about the quality of the product so he goes on google/youtube and types "product x" review. He gets on a review page/review video that convinces them to buy it and they click on the link (ofc affiliate link) and they make the purchase.

Does that mean they've overwritten my inital cookie so that review site/review video gets the sale?

What about recurring products? Is there any way it could be influenced by "external sources"?

Thanks for taking the time! Cheers

Hot off the press at Clickbank, and I quote:

Q: With HopLinks, does the first or last affiliate get the commission?
A: When a purchase is made, the commission is awarded to the last affiliate who referred the customer to that particular vendor.

If so, is there any way I can protect my sale?

I'm not an affiliate marketer, but I would say make a stronger pitch that takes your customer from "well, maybe I could use this.. let me research it" to "I need to buy this now". Then, I'd stop worrying about the small portion that Google it for more proof. The law of averages kind of predicts that you'll lose customers this way and you'll gain customers this way.

        I've also thought about this:

After convincing them through my newsletter, I could offer some "neutral" reviews, that aren't placed on my website. They will actually be placed on another website of mine ( review website only ) with my hop ofc. I could also pay 5$ or 10$ on Fiverr for 2 review videos, boost them with views, likes, comments and send my subscribers to those two, so they can see "another opinion" , what do you think?

Honestly, it doesn't sound like you have the strongest relationship in the world with your list? Do you just promote products or do you send out info that helps them/they need? How's the relationship?

If you strengthen the relationship, you should be able to "convince" your followers that they need your product much easier. Then they likely wouldn't have to double check everything you say.

Note, I'm not an very experienced email marketer. But, I've been in business a while and it's pretty much common sense in sales. Trust is huge. I would personally not put my businesses on the line of insincere Fiverr reviews and mock reviews.

Unfortuantely you can't.. if your visitor is not convined to make the sale yet and decided to read another review for example, you lost him.

But don't be discouraged because the majority will buy right after sending them.

Even if the product is expensive? Like 200$? I'd look for other opinions when it comes to this kind of money

Last I knew, it was an indexed cookie, and the LAST affiliate gets the credit!

Lets say a customer follows a seller with an ID of XYZ to ebook #1, and YOU come, with an ID of ABC that they follow to ebook #2. They like both deals. they buy ebook #1 and #2. XYZ gets the credit for #1, and YOU get the credit for #2.

SOME people try to fill up every index so THEY always get the credit. When caught, sanctions are imposed. They may not get a penny, may lose their account, etc... Unfortunately, if they DO manage to pack the cookies, old cookies that haven't expired yet will be replaced, and they will lose the chance at that commission.
