Anyone had or has a tshirt business?

Cafepress is probably the best known name in the business of self designed printed T-shirts but it is a bit expensive. There are others like Sunfrog shirts. To get it cheap, you will have to source from China but they will require much larger quantities.

Your best bet is to find a local screen printer. At 30-50 prints of each design, that's likely the most cost effective way to go (depending on how may colors).

You'll probably get charged a screen set up fee and a design fee if they have to design them. Usually, they'll keep the screens for you if you plan on reordering so that they don't have to recreate them over and over. You'll also save on shipping costs.

Check blankshirts.com, blankapparel.com, etc. Just google "wholesale blank tshirts" and you'll find a to of suppliers.

There's also a huge forum online that can definitely help you with printing/supplier questions much more than most people here. Google "tshirt forum"

That is definitely the correct answer if you're in a medium-sized town or better. You're probably looking at $10 or less per shirt with one-color graphics/logos.

The last time I ordered business tees a few years ago, it seems like I was around $7 a pop and I got them in about a dozen colors.

Definitely use Sunfrog for this purpose! You can create your own collection in Sunfrog using other people's shirt designs. Also, there's no minimum order per shirt. You can even buy 1 shirt per design. Hope this helps!

What matters in getting a good T-shirt is finding the right company to print them. When you have the right company to print them, with a solid reputation mind them, you know you'll get exactly what you want.

If you look at their website, and check their reputation online, you'll immediately be able to know if they're the ones you want doing the job for you. But just take a look at that website, and see what it can do for you.

Why not just do a teespring campaign and direct people there? This way it avoids you having to keep stock and eliminates much of the headache.

I think its far much better to sell tshirts on your own rather than doing third party platforms. its more profitable that way and printers charge you low.

My good friends Leo and Brittney run a tshirt printing business out of their house and he can only keep the site live for 24 to 48 hours then needs to shut down because its just the two of them. The business "themainstreetpress.com" and he is averaging around 8 grand per month in pure profit!

teespring is great, but I only tried with facebook traffic. The key is to constantly test different designs and scale up with the one that performs well and makes lots of sales. It can be hard to find the ones that everyone ends up buying

I own Rookie Rise Clothing. Definitely the best decision I ever made was to start my company allowing me to take my passion of graphic design / art and put it on clothing while inspiring others. Avoid 3rd party print sites and learn to print yourself or find deals locally.
