For the first question I would go without the hyphen simply because I think anything online (email address, domain etc) is better without a hyphen.

For the second question I really don't think it matters which you pick. I would probably set up a more personal one to contact other sites for business matters and use info or support as "helpline" email addresses for your users.

It probably won't make a huge difference either way. It's just a personal preference of mine to not have hyphens. Given that your site has a hyphen its maybe better to stick with consistency and use the hyphen.

Ultimately it won't make much difference. Users will respond to the value you offer them. The use of a hyphen or not in your email address isnt going to make much of a difference to them

I don't think some people are understanding what you're saying.

If you already have your domain and that domain that you already bought is keyword-keyword.com then that means your emails must be "info@keyword-keyword.com" as well.

If you want to have info, or support, or your personal name ... that's what goes on the LEFT SIDE of the "@" ... what goes on the RIGHT SIDE is what ever your actual domain that you purchased is.

If you already purchased keyword-keyword.com then that's what it has to be.

What other people have been saying is that if you haven't purchased the domain already then a domain without the hyphen is better than one that has it.

      Hope this helps.

You can't create a custom email for a domain you don't own.

    Example:

    If you own Keyword-Keyword.com
    You cannot create email@ KeywordKeyword.com

You would first have to purchase the KeywordKeyword.com domain

I can hardly believe some of the replies above.

It looks like some people understood the question while others didn't?

To clarify: if your domain-name is keyword-keyword.com, there's no point in expecting to receive any email sent to keywordkeyword.com, without the hyphen, because any email sent to that domain will go to its owner, not to you.

If you register/own that name yourself, as well, as some people do (and redirect one url to the other, for example), you can do whatever you like with email addressed to the domain (though you'll still need to set that up separately from the url redirection).

Many people have a catch-all email set up, so that all email sent to "anything"/"anyone" (at) theirdomain.com will be received by them.

When I want to contact website-owners who have no email address on the websites, I always send email to "admin" (at) theirdomain.com with copies to "info" and "support". I suspect they quite often receive three copies, but I apologise for that possibility in the email I send.

For any kind of business, in my opinion, firstname.lastname (at) yourdomain.com is always a professional-looking email address to use. It's what I've always used, myself.

Chiming in ... also, many mailing list services and spam filters reject or filter out generic email addresses, such as info@ or support@. Mailchimp, for example, removes any email address in our list that is generic. That's a bit frustrating because in many cases, they are legit email addresses that actually are seen, but more often, they are email addresses with a "no-not-reply" type response. I'd use something more personal as well.

info@, support @, admin @, have all gone by the wayside now. People are looking for a personal touch and a name gives that.

Email receiving programs sometimes toss emails with those addresses in them into the SPAM folder too. Just because they have those words.
