Struggling... Need Quick Cash... Here's a simple blueprint for eBay!

Hello everyone,

I always see people asking for easy ways to make money online, and where there are legitimate ways they are often a little more advanced or cost a lot of money to get started.

I'd like to give you a brief skeleton of a system that anyone can use to start making money very quick on eBay. In fact I set up a fresh account on eBay about 100 days ago and only actually started selling about 45 - 60 days ago.

This account has already pulled in $1329.03 in total and about $1,200 in profit all from one simple $12.99 product that is shipped out on a disc costing me about $2.00 in duplication, packaging, postage and eBay/PayPal fees.

I won't be going into great detail, this is just a simple guide designed to show you how easy it is to get started. You will need about $15 - $20 to get started. $10 in paypal and $5 - $10 in cash to buy a few blank discs, envelopes and stamps.

Step 1 - Open a new eBay account and purchase a few cheap items, you can get beads from china for $0.05 with free postage. You are aiming for 10 buyer feedback. You can only order from the same seller once in a week.

Any more and all feedback you receive from that seller will be counted as 1 single positive even though multiples will show up on your profile.

Step 2 - While you are building up feedback, browse eBay and take note of any items that are selling like hot cakes.

Step 3 - Think of info products that can be used as an alternative or even enhancer to the items that you have found.

Step 4 - Once you have 10 feedback create or find that info product that can replace/enhance your hot selling items and list them.

Step 5 - Wait for a few to sell, and burn them to disc your self until you reach around $25 in profit from your item.

Step 6 - Use your first $25 do order 25 pre burned and printed discs from a duplication house.

Step 7 - Once sales start picking up a little open a basic shop and create a good till cancelled buy it now listing of your item. Create a 1,3,5,7 and 10 day auction of the listing at a little higher than your good till cancelled listing.

In your auction listings have a couple of links to your good till cancelled listing telling people they can get the same item cheaper on buy it now and direct them to your good till cancelled.

Step 8 - Wait until your stock gets down to about 10 and order another batch of ready made discs.

And that is basically all there is to it. The possibilities are endless and you can have upto 50 different listings targeting different keywords selling the same one single info product.

All you need to do is keep searching for different hot sellers and add a new info product following the process above. There are a few little secret ninja tactics you can use to blast your good till cancelled near the top of page one as soon as it gets indexed.

You can also get top rated seller very fast by selling a simple little item that people just love to buy. But it can be a little time consuming doing it. I will be keeping them to beauties a secret for now.

Hope this gives you a little idea of how to get started, any questions just ask.

    Hey everyone,

It really is easy and once you do it once you see opportunities everywhere. Then once you combine that one product it snowballs when you start targetting multiple keywords.

The one product I used on this new account is only targetting 2 keywords. Because it is an alternatine. However I have this ranked about 10th right amongst the powersellers.

When you have a product enhancer listed and start targetting upto 50 keywords the sales literally flood in.

If you are struggling to make money or need a little funding to get something else started then this is a great little earner that anyone can use.

Nice method.. But why do you sell it on a disk? do the majority of people still use DVDs and CD's .. wouldn't it make more sense to sell digital info products? The buyer could access it instantly and might increase incentive.

Sorry, not criticizing, and it obviously works for, just wondering why you go through with printing physical disks. Do you put artwork on the disks too?

      Hi, great question.

I would love to use digital delivery however it is against eBay rules and regulations... So putting it on a disc turns your digital item into a physical one which is allowed.

Furthermore after the first few sales depending on the price you are selling for you simply order some ready made pre burned discs with artwork printed on them very cheap.

Seriously once you have them in a ready made batch it is really fast processing orders.

I purchase 100 pre made discs that come burned, printed and already inside plastic wallets.

As soon as they arrive I put them in envelopes and put a stamp on them.

All I need to do to process an order now is write an address, mark as dispatched and mail the item.

What I do is... Say I get 10 orders today. At about 10pm I will write the addresses and leave my items ready to post

I then take these items and post them when I take the kids to school the following day.

It takes me about 30 seconds to prepare an order that costs about $2 including burning, printing, packaging, postage, PayPal and eBay fees. Not bad when that item makes me roughly $11.

      Hope this answers your question

          Hi Melanie,

Glad I could help you. I am thinking about creating a wso and starting a fresh eBay account and documenting everything I do along the way including screen recorded videos showing the whole process from start to finish.

Kind of like a case study which will show people just how easy and profitable it can be.

          So watch this space.

  • I tried this with about a dozen of my ebooks which sell regularly on Amazon and after a month I hadn't made one single sale. There are a million things that could have gone wrong but it seemed weird that I didn't even get a nibble. I'm used to selling on eBay but these ebooks were a real disappointment for me. Glad you are having luck at it.

      Hi,

The key to doing what I am doing is finding hot physical products that are selling multiple times every day.

You can then either replace them with an info product alternative or... And this is the best way.

Enhance them with an info product that makes the product easier to use or goes hand in hand with it.

For example (I haven't researched this but it could work) say you found an e-cig that was selling 20 - 30 times a day...

You could list an info product that either replaced the need for the e-cig or something that could be used along side it.

Something like a stop smoking hypnosis soundtrack would work wonders.

If you could get your stop smoking hypnosis disc to show up near this e-cig you could either destroy the e-cig in your salespage and present yours as the replacement or praise the e-cig and present your info product as an enhancer to the e-cig.

      Hope this helps.

    Hi,

As a freelance writer, there was a short period of time I failed to get new clients. No earnings at all for some weeks.

I joined eBay and listed my old books. I was surprised that in the same week, there were interested people asking questions already.

I photographed each book cover + back + places where there were blemishes, discoloration and damages. Posted summaries of the books and stated my opinions about each one of them.

I sold off my 1st book the following week. And sold off all the listed books in a span of 1 month.

For each book, I promised a free gift, which I honoured.

It was fun and lightened me up during the depressing period.

      Hi,

Thanks for popping in. Selling physical books is really easy on eBay isn't it.

In fact selling pretty much anything on eBay is easy if you list it right. Just like digital products that many people sell online...

If it solves a problem people will buy it. The great thing about eBay though is that the customers are there right now in buying mode waiting for you to offer them what they want.

Here's one anyone can do relatively cheap... I done it a few years back with great success.

You will need a printer, laminator, some a5 laminating pouches and some a5 gloss photo paper.

All you need to do is design pretty/cool childrens bedroom door signs and personalise them with a name.

Print it off, laminate it, post it.

I sold hundreds of them and it was quite fun at first however when it took off I couldn't keep up with demand.

I also sold wedding keepsakes with different poems, bridesmaid, maid if honor, mother/inlaw, father/inlaw. These sold very well too.

I also started finding pictures of childrens cartoons, getting the parent to send a picture of their child with each order.

I would then cut the child out, plant them in the cartoon scene, print it on a4 magnet paper and cut it into 16 squares and send it out as a fridge magnet jigsaw...

Again these sold very well just that it was time consuming.

    Here's another,

Anyone in the uk could do this right now.

I was looking for cheap things to sell to build up feedback about 2 years ago.

I found that sim cards were selling quite well.

So I started looking for cheap suppliers and found giffgaff.

This company lets you sign up and send sim cards to friends and family for free. If they top up giffgaff give you £5. That is for every first top up of a new sim card.

All you do is log in and enter the name and address of the person you want to give a sim card to and they will send one out free of charge.

I started selling them on eBay starting the auction at 1p to build up feedback, if it sold i would just enter the buyers name and address on giffgaff and they would send it out for me.

About 30 - 40% of people who purchased topped up and earned me £5.

They pay commissions twice a year.

Effectively I was getting paid to build my feedback rating.

A friend of mine has been doing it since and sold about 2000 to date at 99p and also received £5 from about 30% of them.

Look into it, you could start today

      Thank you Easy eBay.

Good stuff here. I have never gotten into Ebay much at all.

But I hope people realize that there is such a diversified field of Models in IM that you can adopt and be very successful with.

All you need to do is have a Plan like this and put it into action.

      Thanks again.

        Hi Robert,

You are absolutely right. A lot of people totally eradicate eBay from their thoughts when thinking about starting an online business.

While it may be more profitable in the long run to get a more substantial business set up, a lot of people try, fail and get disheartened and totally quit.

Where as if they set an easy eBay business up they could have a fairly decent income stream consistently working away in the background whilst they put their main efforts into something bigger.

To be honest it is probably one of, if not the easiest way to start making money very fast. Sure other things like affiliate marketing or list building can be very lucrative, however they will usually require a lot of time and knowledge of building and ranking websites or a lot of money to spend on advertising.

Which a lot of, in fact most of the people on this forum don't have.

Where as with eBay they could realistically be making money within 2 or 3 days of opening an account.

Yeah, I read that but it doesn't make sense. The hot product is e-cigs and you're looking for a stop smoking product to "replace" it?

Then I read your post and get to this and I'm confused all over again: "If they top up giffgaff give you £5." What does "top up" mean?

I've been active as a seller and buyer on eBay for 15 years and I'm always looking for an edge. I think you might have something but either I'm missing the point or you're not making it clear enough.

BTW, you can sell digital downloads on eBay. You have sell them on eBay classifieds. I'm not talking about the free classifieds. It's the $10 for 30 days classifieds. They show up right alongside the auctions and buy it now listings.

              Yes, this.

So ecigs are hot sellers. One reason is people are looking to them as a method to quit smoking.

So you would find a "quit smoking" digital product and word the title and listing such that it shows up in ecig searches. People looking for ecigs to quit smoking will be targeted potential buyers for your digital product.

This works best in desperate niches where people spend money on multiple products looking for the same solution.

Like weight loss. Look for a hot selling weight loss supplement on eBay and create a weight loss ebook that targets people searching for the supplement.

So if a supplement DietPow Power is selling well on eBay make an ebook on weight loss tips or even more targeted "DietPow Recipes" or "The DietPow Plan". <- That is a made up example and you would need to be wary of using trademarks, if DietPow was trademarked.

But you get the idea- place a digital product on eBay that complements or targets the same market as an existing physical hot seller.

                Exactly right,

When done correctly with a well thought out promotion plan you can often outrank powersellers and make multiple sales of that one item per day.

If anyone tells you that selling info products on eBay is a waste of time... Totally ignore them because it is very profitable if done right.

Plus the TIME to create a report...12.99 sales price?

Really?? This is easy? It seems to me a long route to a short goal.

Is it because of the eBay traffic?

Honestly, there are faster ways to make that little amount of money, however, that being said, if you have a long term plan, the creating a product for a market might be a good idea, if you expand to a store or web site to continuously sell the products?

It seems to me to be Harder eBay, not Easy eBay.

Nobody said you have to create the report, you can if you want however if you take the time to research you can find high quality video, audio and ebooks thas sell very well.

Plus creating a guide doesn't have to take long. I created a video product in about 2 hours.

It's all about the value of the information to the customer.

It could be a 150 word paragraph, but if that small paragraph solves a major problem you can bet your life that people will pay for it.

90% of the items I sell are ready made info/software products and sell very well.

Plus I think $11 profit on an item that costs $2 to create, package and send... Including fees is pretty good.

Put it this way I used to work 20 hours a week as a waiter and take home $5-600 per month.

One simple info item makes me more than this all while working about 5 hours in total a month.

The first real money I ever made from online marketing was through selling a "Photoshop for complete beginners" eBook on eBay.

I actually knew nothing about photoshop, but I wanted to learn. So I read some tutorials and watched some guides, and made a list of all the things they (as experts) failed to explain to me as a complete beginner. Once I had researched and learnt the information myself I turned it into an eBook and sold it.

eBay is definitely a great place to start out.

I used to sell a compilation DVD's of open source software on Ebay, it made a small but steady income that allowed me to move onto better things, its a good method for making seed money.

I'm going to throw in on this. As I've mentioned, I've been an eBay buyer and seller for a long time. There was a time, years ago that digital products were the rage. Sellers abused the system and eBay shut digital delivery down on the main auction platform. You can still deliver digital downloads via their 30-day classified ads. It costs $9.95 for one of those ads.

Two years ago I spent considerable time researching the eBay market for digital products. eBooks, audio stuff and video stuff. I was more than willing to create CDs and DVDs and mail them out.

Obviously, I looked at the sellers doing this. There are a lot of them. What they're selling, for the most part, are weather worn PLR and MRR ebooks. There are certain ebooks that continue to sell briskly regardless of how old they are. But they don't bring in very much.

I determined that the only way to make this worth it was to list bundles of titles in the same auction. You can literally put hundreds of titles on a single CD. That allows you to get your price up there high enough to make the listing profitable. If you look closely you'll find this is what most of the sellers are doing.

There are a handful of sellers out there that are killing it. A handful. And that's because they're offering really unique information. Stuff for preppers is hot right now. There are other categories that also sell briskly. I haven't bought anything from any of these people because virtually none of it appeals to me. But judging by the high number of positive feedbacks they're getting, the titles must contain great information because plenty of these eBooks on disc are selling in the $10+ range.

So for me it came down to participating in a crowded market with a bunch of sellers offering old material. There are ways of course, to be sure someone buys your stuff before all the copycats, but with prices so low I decided not to bother because although you'll be profitable, you'd need to sell hundreds of units and I just don't see the demand being that strong.

Again, if you've got something unique and of high quality, then go for it. But if you're going to offer the same old tired stuff as the majority of eBay sellers, you're better off selling dirty little autopilot Ninja secrets on the WSO forum.

      Thanks for popping in,

You raise some great points and yes you see a lot of people selling silly stuff like 250,000 ebooks on one disc for about $1.

When in actual fact they could be making 10 - 15 times that amount with a single information product. Be it, video, audio, software or ebook.

It is all in the targetting and initial research.

There are some physical products that sell 1000s of times a week.

If you use smart judgement you can be making a lot of money from these people by just being there listed by those high volume items.

People who wouldn't actually be looking for what you are selling.

In a way it is similar to when you see amazon listings with 'people who brought this item also looked at these'.

Only your item is the only one they'll see.

I'll toss out a freebie. This makes money, no question. Seeds. Flower and vegetable seeds.

It's perfect. Cheap to buy (in bulk). Light, so shipping is cheap. And it doesn't break.

You can buy seeds very inexpensively wholesale. They sell briskly on eBay year round. All you need to do is search online for wholesalers and then buy popular sellers by the pound or half pound. You're going to need some capital to get started so I suggest you start out with something popular and then funnel the profit into another wholesale batch of seeds.

There are lots of accessories you can sell with seeds. Now those worn out eBooks (on gardening) have value. Invest in new, appealing cover art and people will buy your seeds and your eBook add on.

One of the things that made me successful was that for most of my auctions I had a bonus product. Bonuses are common in the MMO market but not nearly as much on eBay. So if you're selling the exact same stuff as 20 other sellers but your offer includes a bonus, guess whose stuff they buy? Yours.

I emailed a bunch of people that had developed neat little software programs, games, videos and of course hundreds of PLR ebooks and put them on a CD. I got permission to use everything on the CD. I used it as a bonus to just about anything I was selling. The description for the CD was over 2000 words. I had a lot of people buy my auctions for the CD and not the main product. That's how powerful a bonus can be.

Back to seeds. There are lots of accessories that can go with seeds. Seed tapes sell well and you can make them yourself. I know a lady that sells seeds, pots and other garden stuff year round. Not on eBay, from her home.

As for running a WSO on eBay methods. I don't know. My first WSO here was an eBay how to ebook. I think I sold four at $10 each. I've watched eBay WSOs over the years and they usually don't do well. That's because people here have been hypnotized into believing they can make money without working. Just about every WSO on eBay techniques I've seen here ended up free in the war room shortly after launching.

eBay definitely takes work. eBay buyers are very spoiled and will leave you negative feedback at the drop of a hat. If you want to make it on eBay you're going to have to ship your stuff immediately. You're going to have to describe it in detail if you want people to buy it. And unless you get someone to do it for you there is no "set it and forget it" option. It's a retail business, though it's one you can do very well with. Back in a 24+ month period from 07 to 09 I made my living from eBay. A nice living, though I put in 10+ hours a day, every day except Sunday.

Two years ago in the summer I picked up some video games at a yard sale. I paid $11 for 10 games and sold them for $230. I had no idea they were so valuable. I bought and sold more than 3000 video games that summer just about tripled my money. I became an expert on what games were hot but never played a single one. I started with $40 in my pocket and never added a cent after that. All on eBay. It was work but it was fun.

You can actually sell digital products on eBay, you just have to put them in "Everything Else>Information Products", and use the Classified Ad format.
What I would like to do is list products like this and somehow have your website intercept the download link and make a randomized URL that disappears after a couple of days so people arent posting links to your products.
Does anyone know how this is done? There are websites that will do it for you, but I really dont want to share the small profits I would be making.
    Any help would be appreciated.
