Buy button appear after few minutes?

What do affiliates show prospects?
I am pretty new to this. Got two questions:
1- what do affiliates show clients? Just a link? Or do they warm up the clients with some marketing?
2- on a pitch page with video, I've seen how buy now button turns prospects off. would it better to create a pitch sell with buy now button already there or pitch page where buy now button appears after a few minutes?
