Coop Leads - Good or bad?

I've been doing some research for a blog post I want to write about using Co-op Leads and I would love to hear from others what their experience has been with these type of leads.

I have tested them out myself but I would like to know how effective others have found using these leads. There's not much mention of them here on the forum as far as I could see, and I would really like to hear from those who have ACTUALLY used them.

What I mean by Co-op leads are leads that have come from a third party website where the visitor has specifically opted-in to receive information about making money online.

Has anyone had experience with these? What was your bounce rate like? Did you actually get any response/sales from them?

I look forward to hearing your comments.

I have tried coop registration leads from a few sources and it really depends on HOW the coop user signs up.

MOST co-reg leads are forced into signing up for your list even without being told they are doing so. These are more likely to be non-responsive or file spam complaints on you.

There are a FEW RARE co-reg systems I have tried that are way better. They allow the USER to choose if they want to subscribe to your list or not. This is done by giving them a check box with your exact LIST DESCRIPTION so the user has to manually check the box to subscribe to your list as well. This ensures the user is actually wanting to subscribe and knows they are subscribing to your list.

Some coreg systems force the box to be checked unless the user un-checks it which means you will get a lot more subscribers who have no idea they subscribed to you.

Looking through the forum I don't see many mentions of these type of leads even though I know members here actually sell them. Is that because very few have used these leads or is there some other reason they don't get mentioned much?
