Couple questions about Joint Venture marketing

Hi everyone, my name is Dorian and I am new to this forum. I have a couple questions about joint venturing. I am currently promoting some affiliate programs, 2nd tier products at the moment.

1. When a JV sends a promotional email to their list for their product how do you have the link in the email go to a landing pg and have the JV partner get a commission?

For ex. if they communicate to their list and link to my landing pg, how would they get a commission if the visitors purchased on my autoresponder list? I would have to put their 2nd tier link in the emails wouldn't I?

2. Would I give a separate 2nd tier link to each JV partner? I think this is an obvious and stupid question but I just want to clarify.

3. Where is a good site to find 2nd tier products? It seems like a dime and a dozen on clickbank.

    It's done through tracking cookies and whatever software you use should do it easily. I use 1shoppingcart to track my affiliate program.

    Let's say you have a product and you are paying 50% commission. If the jv partner sends out an email blast and people buy, the partner gets 50%. The second tier would come into play if the jv partner was also marketing your affiliate program. So if the partner got another jv partner to sign up and a say was made through the second jv partner's efforts, the second jv partner would get 50% and the original jv partner would get the second tier commission (let's say 10%).

      Thanks for your reply.

      What I meant to say is that it is not my affiliate program it is an affiliate product I am promoting. Therefore, the shopping cart and all other behind the curtain workings are operated by the merchant.

      I heard there is still an opportunity for marketing with 2nd tier links to JV's in the way I mentioned above.
