You Know Microsoft Expression Web designer is free now right?

In my service I daily get people asking what web editor they can use and see a lot of replies about Komposer and a couple other free ones that are kinda mediocre.

But I am always surprised to find out they don't know that Microsoft expression web designer is now free. It was the next best thing to Dreamweaver and a lot easier to use for non professionals. So just in case there's anybody who wants a better than average tool here it is

Download Microsoft Expression Web 4 (Free Version) from Official Microsoft Download Center

Expression Web is a full-featured professional tool for designing, developing, and publishing compelling, feature-rich websites that conform to web standards.

Hope somebody can use it.....

Good to know and should be useful for some. Many years ago I would have immediately jumped on that link, but after so many problems dealing with Windows and IE even free doesn't entice me to use another Microsoft product.

I use notepad to create modular sites and crank out one after another.with minimal css and coding bloatware. One of the best decisions I ever made was learning to code some html and php. Otherwise, it seems WordPress has eaten the lunch of many web design programs.

I did download the software two weeks ago because there are some things that are difficult to do in MS Front Page. 5 minutes later my CPU usage went through the roof. After uninstalling the software it still took me a day to get it down again. But maybe that's just my PC!?

I downloaded it and had a look at it. I didn't try it in design view, just code view, but it certainly seems it can save you some keystrokes if you're used to working with actual css, html etc. Thank you for sharing that Phil.

Never used MS Expression before. Actually, I never knew that it cost money to use it. I got into Web Design right when WordPress started to really dominate. Can someone tell me how much it originally cost to use?

I think it will be another cool free tool to practice web design and learn coding, but to actually design sites nowadays? Thanks, but I'll stick to WordPress.

There are lots of reason to learn how to code. Just because Wordpress is your main site, that doesn't mean you might not want to use landing pages like the one another posts asks how to do here
Free Alkaline Diet Newsletters Subscription (Worth $19.90) -- As far as I know, the only way to do something like that is html and css.

Also if you're using sales pages in Wordpress, and it's important to get the layout (in the sales letter) exactly the way you want it, knowing how to use a little inline styles and some html is a bonus. It also comes in handy for marking up newsletters you send out, if they are html based.
