Hey,

I set up a 99design contest for my new sites logo and was hoping to get your opinion on this.

I created a poll here on the top finalist designs:

Damn that's a lot of submissions! Bet a lot of people go hungry on there. Glad to see you got some cool looking designs though, I'd go with either 908 or 1481

Yea, it costs $1,000 to run the contest including featured posting, tweet on their twitter, etc.

But the way I look at it, that's less than $1 per logo which is cheaper than rolling the dice on fiverr and just using whatever comes out.

True, I would never recommend Fiverr for a quality logo. However, you can find some pretty talented designers on Elance/oDesk ($50-150 per logo) I have a designer on Elance that does a pretty damn good job for $50.

Yea 99Designs is kinda pricy haha, their cheapest plan is 300. However, if you really have no idea what you're looking for and just want loads of ideas it could be a good place to start.

Best thing to do is get a good idea of what you're looking for first, then take it to a single designer (right to the source) and get it done cheaper.

I tought 99design costs only $100 (and it's kinda pricey.)

Dude you can get better logos for $5 on fiverr.

Anyway #553 and #908 for me.

    Hi Luther,

Im here chatting with a professional logo designer so I showed him the options. He said although he thinks the font used for the term hackers in the logo could be changed he would suggest 929 and 361.

You might want to take a look at this page: Generic and overused logos - Avoid them!
Every one of these logos is just another example for this list...

Fantastic link and point, sunray. I would thank you for sharing, but I'm unsure how. Really, what is the point of a logo if it just blends in like background noise or worse, becomes a noise all its own? It can only diminish that which is being communicated.

Profit Hackers is a good brand name. It has the ring of potential to it, but the contest logos are generic in comparison, and beneath the quality of the name IMO. $1000 is a fair price for a logo, but it may have been better spent on one dedicated designer who could have given the brand the attention it deserves.

That being said, I would choose #133. It is the clearest expression, appeals least to trends or gimmicks, and as such has the most longevity.

908 is possibly the winner. That stationary effect makes it hard to say for sure though.

I like the upwards trending graph in that one. And the lower case "i" dotted with the color of the word below it is a nice touch. The text is also very easy to read.

Not a fan of the spacing in "hackers" in so many of these logos. It doesn't look bad from an artistic perspective, but seven letters is a bit much to space out for real world use. You have to pause for a moment and take the name in before you realize what it says. It just isn't a natural way for people to read.

    I like #1,481 the best.

Unfortunately, not a big fan of the name. The word "Hackers" where I come from general doesn't resonate any professionalism... You would lose me as a visitor/client right there, so the logo wouldn't help much.

I personally consider a logo.. an image... if you took the words out of the image.. you would still maybe kinda know what the company / website is about.

I've been around for quite sometime and always honor requests that fall in with the stated refund policy. If your purchase falls within this time frame, contact Help Desk to receive a full refund. Simple as that.
