Help me decide what to do! Please

Hey there,

I have a registered domain name called mindscholars.com

It was originally bought to be a blog on the psychology of online marketing, but I scrapped that idea.

Now I'm lost on what I should do with the name. I don't want to sell it, I want to make something out of it.

So in what niche can this domain name fit?

Thanks,

Karl

Have you looked at mentalism? Its just magic of the mind, mind reading, moving objects with the mind etc. Its not very well known and is very profitable.

You don't have to sell it or make anything out of it; you can just let it expire and move on to another project where you have a clearer idea of what you want to do.

I understand your point, just makes me anxious knowing that it's there and I paid for it and I'm not doing anything with it!

I'd agree with this. No point in trying to force an online property into existence.

Yeah, just buy another - they are dirt cheap anyway.

Mind Scholars - could have training courses there from experts?

You can go with the school niche. Or something about the Mind and Brain.

    I hope this helps!

    Keep up the great work!

    I wish you the best!

    Cheers!

Mindscholars is a very unique and profitable name, I really think you should not loose it. Anyway an Idea is you can put up reviews of mind games, mind readings Videos of mind games and monetize with CPA offers. Games like Lumosity and the like will do well. Mind Scholars can also mean witty business techniques and you can actually enter into Make Money Online Niche thats ever green.

I don't think you should let it expire, the domain name has potential. And there are some great ideas shared here.
Personally, I like the self help idea, it's a great niche to get into.

You could use it for something in education. It all depends on how much time and energy you want to put into it now you are going in a different direction. Otherwise as others have said - put it down to experience and just let it expire.

    Hi karlstech,

    I have a few ideas...

    1. This may sound like the obvious answer, but why not use "the psychology of online marketing"? Why did you scrap that idea? If it seemed like it would take up too much of your time, why not just set up a simple blog where you post occasional articles about marketing psychology?

    2. Keep it for a future product release. You may decide later to create an online course which can somehow make sense with that domain name.

    3. You could always just build a capture page on it. Possible products you could promote - Mentalist Ebook, Brain Training Product, NLP Course, Self-Talk Course (reprogramming your mind). Honestly the possibilities for this is huge. Or just promote your own products. I have a bunch of domains simply because they are easy to remember and because they create curiosity/intrigue. (can help with click through rate)

    4. If you think it's just going to be a distraction to you and you got the domain cheap, just let it go. If it distracts you from activities that you know produce profit for you, it may cost you more in the long run keeping it. Just turn off "auto-renew" and focus on what makes you money...

    Hope that helps!

Some great ideas being shared here!

I was totally into the whole psychology of online marketing since I've taken a few psychology course and done a few case studies on business psychology, so it seemed like a good fit.

And it wasn't all too time-consuming, in fact my new project is 5x as time-consuming.

I think the reason I scrapped it was because I strayed too far from my original idea, got insecure about if people would actually like it and so on.

There is already a blogger doing this, Derek Halpern, and he is getting a big following.

But maybe I'll return to that idea, or get into the self-help market or even just let it be for the time being, we'll see! I still have a good 9 months left!
