Just bought a domain name and got this email:

Error: UNHANDLED NIC RESPONSE

    There's not a great deal you can do. There isn't one action you can take as it depends on how their systems are set up.

    You should contact them to see if they can resolve it for you, if they won't try registering it somewhere else. If you think the domain may sell quickly then I'd register it somewhere else straight away if you can and deal with getting a refund later.

    This is a system error. You cannot do anything about it? Wait for the refund and submit another domain name.

    The error message is a system error.

    Most likely the domain name is registered
    for you, except that the system failed before
    registration is complete.

    Email the registrar for details. They will credit
    your account if the system did not conclude
    the registration.

    System error do happen mostly when your
    internet connection interrupts the registration
    process.
