Looking for an alternative to membership site software

I'm in the process of finishing up a WSO which consists of a series of video tutorials. In the past, when I've launched a product on JVZoo, I have found the download link for my product on various black hat forums so I'm trying to be as secure as possible with my upcoming WSO.

I would like to house my videos on my website but I want only my buyers to have access obviously. Is there an alternative to membership software that I could use?

      Hi

I recently discovered Gumroad. It was recommended by Ryan Lee and its fantastic.

I am using if for a number of my projects and it seems to keep things safe. I love the additional features of being able to add special offer codes and the 'name your own price' is also a valuable feature too.

It might be an avenue you want to consider.

It is why I don't use Wishlist for my membership portal. If they find the "sign in" page, anyone can sign up... I would check out Digital Access Pass since this is never an issue. They actually have to buy to have access. I have found DAP is a pretty good deterrent to the black hat sites.

Now add on to this how you are displaying your video. Unless you obviscate the S3 bucket, they can find the Amazon bucket and download, especially if your setting aren't right. It is why I use Vimeo Pro.

While all this is not perfect and will never stop a determined person from getting your stuff for free, it is two layers that make it less worth their time.

    I really like newrainmaker .

There are a lot of really nice included features from private membership forums, simple ecommerce integration, drip feed content for doing training, can set up and track affiliates, capture and sales page builder etc, etc.

Still wordpress based but its a fully hosted, fully integrated, all-in-one platform. So you can't add plugins, but this thing is geared up for us marketers plus real secure.

    Good Luck !!

    Hi Chantal,

Take a look at DLGuard. It's available on Clickbank.

I signed up for a very respected membership site recently and they were using that. I'm assuming it works with JVzoo.

    DAP is highly recommended.
For a free wordpress plugin, you can look at "PaidMembershipsPro".

    Chantal,

I am not aware of any 100% foolproof system for securing your product.

You have to balance layers of security with the trade-off of making access to your products by legitimate buyers very difficult and not user friendly.

Sharing download links is common but there are ways to limit the number of times a download link can be used.

Another problem is legitimate buyers sharing your content.

I think you have to determine your own level of comfort with the security measures you've adopted, figure that you're going to experience some percentage of pirating, and then you're going to move forward from there.

Rather than stress over say 10% leakage . . . just sell a little harder and cause your overall sales to increase by 20%!

    There are no perfect solutions.

    What up Chantal,

Instead of trying to spend all your time policing black hat forums and serving DMCAs, why not just create a product that you don't care gets shared? (embed those affiliate links yo)

Also, for membership site software, I use DAP. It's the best I've found so far. As far as videos go? I use Vimeo Plus for $10/mo. You can protect your video based on domain names where they are viewable.

Oh, and the reason Vimeo is so cool is not because it protects your videos like that, lots of services can do that, Vimeo is tight cause you only pay $9.95 for unlimited bandwidth!
