Spening 4 k in testing a pitch page?

6 replies
Hello;

Up to this point I finished pitch page copy and marketing video.

In brief my plan is to show the video on page, get buy now button to appear after 5 minutes, sell for $69 and upsell for $119.

Before I proceed I know it's time to test. My questions:

1 - PPC? I set up myself? Any tips I could learn from your experience?
2 - Alternatives? Can I offer something to affiliates?
3 - I have 4 k. What's the best way to invest it in your experience?
4 - Is 4k enough to test a pitch page?
5 - I am thinking of making 1 page with only video and 1 page with only copy. I am not sure if I make 1 page with both. Well then I have to test 3 pages.
6 - Is it really how much I should spend to test?

Thanks

      If I land on a page that is video only, with no controls or way to navigate, I am gone. but that is just me. I personally like Video and copy on same page, that way I have a choice.

      As for your amount of money, it is just arbitrary. No one can really say if your amount is enough. You could make bad decisions and blow through that 4 k in a week, or you could make really good decisions and only use a small portion of it to make a good return.

    I personally try not to spend any more than $50 per test and you may need to run a few of these until you begin to see results. In other words, one set of keywords against a landing page - give it 50-100 visits to verify results, if no sales, then on to the next set or change your landing page. You can split test (highly advisable) to help find the "winning" landing page faster.

    Wouldn't offer anything to affiliates until you get a read on conversion of your page - most affiliates will not get serious until they know you have a decent conversion rate anyway

    What is not clear is if your pitch page is a squeeze page on the way to well thought out sales funnel (email sequence) or if your pitch page is for the product itself. I would HIGHLY advise you come up with an initial incentive piece of content designed as entry into sales funnel where you walk your prospect through a 3-5 step series designed to demonstrate your value, show proof/testimonials of your unique solution and remove your prospect's top couple of objections. Your conversions will end up to be much higher than sending cold traffic directly to a sales pitch page.

      This doesn't make any sense! 50? Everyone is saying I need 1000 visitors to be able to see conversion. That makes more sense because with $50 how am I supposed to send 1000 visitors to the page and check conversion rate?

      There has to be a better way than being that generale "Change landing page". Change what? Remove video? Remove copy? Add more copy? Change buttons? Where to get feed back from? I am sure there are better ways.

      What type of proof do they need?

      What is the name of that page? I know opt in just takes email. But after that there will be a let's say $7 product and then a $67. What is the name of the $7 product page? Is it called sales page?

      Cheers Jeff

    First of all your upsell price point is no good. $119? Where did you come up with that.

    You'll convert WAAAAAAY better if you change the price to $97. If for some reason it has to be more than that then make it $197. I bet you'll find the slightly lower conversion will be more than offset by the additional money you make. There's a reason why you NEVER see an IM product priced at $119.

    Secondly, you may want to consider a lower priced front end. $69 is way too much to be trying to convert "cold traffic" from advertising. Your conversion rates on that is going to be quite abysmal (likely less than 1%).

    You would be much better off taking your $69 product and peeling a piece of it off and having a $7 front end offer (called a "trip wire offer").

    Then pitch the $69, then the $197 (or $97 if you can).

    Your conversion rates will be astronomically better that way.

    Now to answer your actual question.

    Test your ads with a very small budget. $15 a day for 5 days. Then wait for a couple more days after you pause the campaign.

    So basically one week after you started the campaign look at your stats. Did the campaign make you enough to continue? If yes, then SLOWLY scale up your spending. If not then you haven't wasted much money.

    But I will say this, trying to send cold traffic to a $69 isn't going to work out well. You need to seriously reconsider your sales funnel.

    Hope this helps.

      I am gonna try $7 -> $67 -> $197
      The $67 and $197 are ready. I have to come up with a $7 product!

      I am still not sure how to check conversion rate with spending $15 a day. I heard so many times you need at least 1000 clicks to be able to calculate.
