To Use Or Not To Use: Plagiarism Checker

Hi guys, I am currently doing some kind of research in Internet Marketing sphere and I need to know your opinion about plagiarism checkers/detectors.

Those of you who order content(webmasters, SEO, website owners), do you check your content for plagiarism after your order is done?

Those of you who write that content (copywriters), do you check your content with plagiarism checker before you send it to the customer?

I would highly appreciate if your comment/answer will include your current occupation(role).

I have not purchased content in years but on the rare occasions that I did I would always check it with Copyscape.

When I write my own content why would I need to check it? I already know I did not plagiarize it.

Thanks for your comment. What about unintentional plagiarism? It may appear even if you write your own content.

I don't think I would worry about "unintentional plagiarism." A few similar phrases here and there does not mean you copied it. Similar wording is used all the time by writers in all types of niches. I suppose if a person was writing content about scholarly, sensitive or often challenged types of subjects it wouldn't hurt to check it before you published it. You can check content very quickly.

    Thanks, Janice.

Any other opinions or experience of using plagiarism detectors?

Honestly, I think everyone who hires writers should definitely check the content with Copyscape (or other plagiarism checkers, there are many others).

At least when you first hire someone, it's best to check them out and, if you do discover that they copied the content and sold it to you as their own, you should definitely leave feedback on the website you hired them from (if you found them on elance or fiverr or any other freelance websites). This helps out other buyers, like yourself, and this also helps other freelancers, who struggle to offer a good quality service stand out like they deserve.
