If you are confused and don't know what to do..Start Writing

Internet marketing covers a very wide field.

Sometimes it's already confusing where and what to do.

This things happens to me all the time. I discover and learn so many promising business models that sometimes I end up mentally blocked on what to do next.

Imagine learning something that earned a newbie $900 in one day or
an easy set and forget system that earned a marketer $100k in one month.

If you encounter these information everyday you'll end up on a wild goose chase and most probably will achieve nothing in the end.

If you follow every new business model that you encounter everyday you'll be spread out too thinly and most probably burn out due to exhaustion before you earn anything..

So how do you go about doing internet marketing to make it profitable?

My observation is to look for a proven business model that actually earns money and then stick with it until it pays out.. then start expanding once you've made something out of your first business model. FOCUS on something first.

What are the proven business models?

Based on my personal experience, writing (with the intention of imparting valuable information and also selling) is one of the proven business model.

If you are confused. Focus on writing contents first. If you encounter new exciting business models, just take note of it and remember to go into it once you've met your current goal.

Where do you get writing ideas?

1. Go to amazon and check out the hottest products.
2. Go to ezinearticles and check out the most viewed articles.
3.Go to social networking sites and determine the most viewed or most rated topics.
4. Go to squidoo and check out the top 100 lens
5. Calm yourself and determine what you like to write about.

Where to get research materials for writing?

1. Go to wikipedia
2. Again, see the top articles in ezinearticles
3. Go to Project Gutenberg and download books related to your material
4. See google knol for related articles
5. Look for forums related to the topics you are writing about
in google search click on the options and click on the
return "FORUM" related results

6. Check out yahoo answers to see actual topics by real people who are looking for information related to your topics. This is a very good way to determine what to write about.

Where to go to write?

1. Apply as an author in Ezinearticles
but to monetize this you must have a blog that offers products. As ezine does not do profit sharing.

2. Google knol - apply for adsense account. You'll get 100% of the adsense income

3. Squidoo - they do profit sharing aside from commissions you may get by affiliate sales

4. Hubpages - I haven't tried this yet but they also do profit sharing. I read recently about a new hubpage author who earned about $50 on the first month. This is small but at least it's something and just in the first month.

5. Associated content - they pay a very small amount for every 1000 page views. this is the only option is you're outside the united states. I think if you're in the US they have an upfront payment.

Also if you don't have a product enroll in ClickBank (this is the basic) and in Amazon or other affiliate sites.

All of the above methods will not make you rich overnight but it will give you a very good foundation and knowledge of earning online. If you are a newbie start with these. These things will help develop your faith that indeed money can be made online. After that everything else is possible.

I myself encounter amazing opportunities online everyday. A promise to make me TONS and TONS of money even in just 24 hours. I know some of them really works so I don't disregard it. What I do is note it and promise myself to do it once I finished my current campaigns.

I do this because I know that "A ROLLING STONE GATHERS NO MOSS" and
that THE ROLLING STONES............is a band

I'm writing this not just for you but for me also..so that everytime I take a detour I can comeback here and remember that one of the first element of success if FOCUS..

Thanks for taking the time to read..

Yep, start writing and get yourself either a blog or a website - or both.

Decide on a niche that you love and know about - then learn more and become a member of forums and blogs that other folks have set up in your niche.

Get to know these people well.

    And enjoy the learning!

    Hope this helps,

    Good post.

There are so many distractions for anyone seeking to make their first $.

My own solution was to focus on just one thing and carry on with that until it was done. Then move on to the next. If you have too much going on at once, something is bound to suffer.

Write a list of daily jobs and don't start browsing the forums (WF) until you've finished your tasks. It's amazing how much time you can spend looking at all the useful info on here!

I also trimmed down the number of lists that I had subscribed to. That made sure I could focus on my project without getting sidetracked by 'the next best thing to riches' that I am offered.

    rapidscc,

I could not agree more. I have been attracted to far too many shiny objects during the past year. If only I had started writing like mad a few months back, I'd be a whole lot further ahead. The big secret to IM - is writing.... a lot.

Good information. But, I would like a bit to one of your section - When you chose what model to follow - it is good to set milestone on what you think you can achieve. Thus, if you are sticking with that one and you are not meeting your milestones - it may be time to try something new.

If something is not working or not working as well as it did or you thought it would - it is OK to try something different. Don't just do so willy nilly - but do your homework and plan it out.

Everything is in constant motion. Think about our current economy. It has changed from a year ago and will change a year from now. When the economy changes so does consumer behavior. If consumer behavior changes - so much your marketing efforts to stay in front of them.

Lastly, don't just pick a model becasue it worked for someone else. Each business and person is different and thus should apporach their own business differently. Plus, what works great for one may not work well for another. Therefore, really think about how a model will fit your business, how it will help your potential customers then make it fit your particular situation.
