Which languages would you translate your products into?

HI
I am going to be having my existing products translated into other languages. My products deal predominantly with the Internet Marketing niche and health.

I have already outsourced a product to be translated into Spanish but I was wondering which other languages you would personally recommend.

All thoughts and opinions welcome.

Thanks

Joe

  • Joe,

I think you should target countries with significant online shopping / ecommerce activity, both for your IM and health-related products, especially for your IM products, since an increase in online shopping / ecommerce activity within a country could lead to larger numbers of individuals, SMEs, established companies and big corporations that are trying to find ways to better establish their online presence and improve their online marketing and brand positioning campaigns. Here's a recent report regarding this:

    That's it for now. Cheers!

I do some very nice affiliate business across Europe. Many of the smaller countries, too; which surprised me in the beginning. I don't currently translate anything, but it's in the works. Luckily for me, most EU countries have strong English-speaking populations, but it will surely improve my EPC if I eventually translate. I've looked into translation software (not sure of the correct name; the software that, when integrated, offers translations), but they don't work well enough in my experience. It seems the best route is a human translation situation. Rambling. Upshot: I'd target countries with the biggest populations in Europe first, then work down the population list.

Thanks for sharing your experiences Tom That was very helpful.

I wouldn't go down the translation software route though. I am outsourcing it to native speakers.

      Thanks again

Do you have Google Analytics on your website? If so, I'd be going through there and seeing what countries most of your visitors are coming from right now. If 20% are coming from Germany and 2% from Japan I'd recommend adding German instead of Japanese..But, I'd go vise-versa if your traffic was that way. I prefer to use a WP plugin that lets me add multiple flags for translation.. I find German and French are both pretty popular.

      Hi

That is a really good tip and makes perfect sense. Thanks very much.

At the moment my traffic is mainly US and UK and that is why I wanted to explore other languages. I was wondering what languages Warriors were finding lucrative.

I am currently translating into Spanish because of the obvious large Spanish speaking audience and German was next on my list.

      Thanks again

Well i guess there's a market in about every country. Here in the Dutch region you could even make money as there's a platform to list IM related products similar to Clickbank. So if you know how to market your product in a specific region there's nothing holding you back really.

      Hi

Wow...I didn't know that but I guess it makes perfect sense that there would be another Clickbank-like site in other countries.

if you or anybody else can point me in the direction of such sites I would be very grateful.

      Kind regards

      Joe
