Submitting Old Blog Posts To Article Directories

Hello Everyone, I think this may be the very first thread I've started on this forum - and I've been here a long time, lol.

I have a "burning" question and I hope some of the Article Syndication experts (Alexa for one), reads this thread.

Recently I have been very interested in Article Syndication. The burning question, (like the title of this thread alludes to): Is there any benefit - or reason I should NOT - submit some very old Blog Posts (articles), to Article Directories?

These "articles" are on a Blog in a "niche" where I am an obvious expert. In fact, several authors have read my posts on this particular Blog and then engaged my help in novels they've written or are writing.

I would be very thankful if you would give me some pertinent insight into the above question: Should I submit very old Blog Posts, (Articles), to some Article Directories?

If the blog in question is not ranking well and has very few visitors, it probably won't hurt your site. You can stand to get more traffic from outside sources.

However, if your site is doing well and has a healthy amount of visitors, I would not risk it at all! You're better off simply rewriting the articles. This is because duplicate content can be a big problem for search engines in trying to figure out which pages to rank. You website traffic would stand to suffer greatly.

Either way, if you choose to do it, would do it sparingly.

  Jonathan; You can bet that everything I do, I do "sparingly", lol.
  
  In the particular "niche" that these Posts/Articles pertain to - It's hard to even monotize. The traffic I get to this Blog are real "fans". There might be a way to monotize the traffic - but I haven't thought of it yet.

  I can see this thread isn't going to get many/any replies. Maybe if I would have title the thread "Article Syndication Drove 1,000,000 New Visitors To My Blog In 15 Minutes" - I would have gotten some answers. I dread to think what the answers might have been though, lol.

Depend on the size of your blog..

Article Directories rather new, unposted content,

However, if your website isn't getting to many views, then go ahead.

Article syndication, like social bookmarking are great ways to get more viewers of your content

The age of the articles shouldn't really make a difference if the topic is evergreen and the info is not outdated. I would say just limit your posting to the most popular article sites and make sure that you don't use the same anchor text in each resource box. Also, use your resource box to get them on your list.
