Taking Payments From People

If I'm selling an ebook or whatever, what are all the ways to take payments from people, other than PayPal?

Can each payment processor refuse to accept payments if you have too many people complaining about your product?

I wouldn't go overwhelming people with payment options. Paypal is good because they can accept account funds and credit card payments. You could also think about doing something like Google Checkout for credit card processing, but I don't think there is a need to go adding Skrill, Payza, and all the other different processors out there.. Most people won't use them and you'll wind up with just a few bucks sitting in one of those accounts.

If you want to sell ebooks then Paypal is definately a must as you'll lose a lot of customers if you do'nt have that option.

Not sure why you wouldn't want to consider Paypal as an option, i hope it's not because you figure people might be complaining

From my own experience and having written four eBooks to date, I would
go down the Paydotcom route even although they do use Paypal as part
    of their checkout process.

You have more control over inquires and refunds on non-tangible items,
whereas Clickbank have a ridiculous 60 day no quibble refund policy and
    a terrible customer service.

If you get high return rate, or chargebacks, you'll just have endless problems. Which is why you should avoid direct sales and go through 3rd party. Then worst case scenario is you lose that account with 3rd party but are still clear with PP.

For ebooks I suggest Gumroad. Its cheap (5%+25 cents per sale), simple and they can pay you through PP.
