Okay I'm really happy with this forum and all this information on it but this amount of information gets me a little confused... Well I don't think that it's a surprise though...
However I also wanted to say sorry for creating a new thread I know how some of You it pisses off. But I couldn't find an answer to solve my problem and confusion.
So basically I wanted to make sure if I get everything right about affiliate marketing.
So basically it goes like this:
1. I create a website or blog.
2. Start writing content
3. Get traffic and collect email addresses
4. Sell affiliate products through my blog/website
Am I right? Although it feels like I missed something already... But I want to do everything right and I want to make sure I'm not missing something crucial.

And to avoid creating another thread I wanted to ask one more question.
I'm trying to decide if I should pick fitness niche or self-improvement. I think these niches are most familiar to me since fitness is really big part of my life and I think that I wouldn't have trouble writing about it BUT it's actually a popular niche and I wonder if it's not overcrowded but then again what about self-improvement? Well I just would appreciate if You guys could give Your opinions.

Thank You in advance! You're all amazing!

You need to pick the niche you want and are most comfortable with and run with it. Half the people here will say not to do it while another half will say go for it. And then what do you do.

When it comes to niche selection, make the decision yourself

Yes - it is easy to get confused. You are correct that this forum has a ton of useful information but also other information as well. I am one personwho does not mind when I see new threads. Those are often the ones and read and post on. I seldom look at old threads that have 900 posts.
The four steps you list are indeed a very basic and simplified version of affiliate marketing. Using the search feature on this forum will help you find the information you need to learn more.

As for you question about fitness vs self improvement niche - keep in mind that both are very competitive. I would suggest that you narrow it down teven more o very specific sum-niches. For example - sports conditioning for high school athletes / or for a certain sport or How to implement the Law of Attraction into your life. Do not try to cover everything. Also keep in mind that whatever you start with may not be what you decide to stick with. Be flexible and learn as you go!

    Cant Tell,

Both fitness and self-improvement are huge markets. If you pick one or the other, you will be competing against thousands of other blogs and businesses.

The way to not have to compete with so many others is to specialize in something . . . some small corner of the market that you really know well and that you can speak with authority about. Make sure that others (your audience) have an interest in what you choose. Make sure that your audience is willing to spend money in your niche on products that you will eventually sell.

By specializing, you bypass much of the fitness or self-improvement market competition. Specializing makes finding and marketing to a very like-minded crowd much easier and less expensive.

So my advice to you is to get specific in what you choose as your niche. Then you can speak with the voice of authority and stand out in your business because it will not be the same as all the other thousands of fitness or self-improvement blogs.

    The best to you,

    Steve

You're going to have a hard time with the fitness niche; with you being new, that is. You have a good solid plan (the bones of one), but I would honestly aim for another niche. Will give you a few tips:

    1. Desperate buyer niche.
    2. Low competition in Google.
    3. High engagement in social networks.

Forget SEO for now, too much of a learning curve, and instead just find yourself a very narrow niche and create an authority site on it. Grow traffic via social platforms. This won't be your only traffic source, but it's a way in to generating high levels of traffic.

Cant tell, Both of those niches are extremely 'competitive'. Is there some other niche that you might be 'already' knowledgeable in right now?

If so, then that would be the niche of my choice if I were starting out.

You'll need a lot of traffic to be able to sell affiliate products exclusively via your website and make a worthwhile return. Most successful affiliate marketers use their websites primarily to capture the email addresses of prospects. They then spend time building trust with their subscribers to whom they recommend selected affiliate products. That's the classic affiliate marketing model.

As others have noted, fitness and personal development are not niches - they're markets. You'd be better off drilling down in one of these markets to find a specialty niche you can exploit.

    Hey there
Like some already have pointed out, try and do something that you know, especially when starting out.
If you dont do something that you enjoy then you wont stick at it.

Also, its not just a case of creating a website or product and then trying to sell from it.
You need to solve a problem, help ease someones pain (so to speak) and offer a solution.

The target market must also have money.
Its no use targeting people who are broke.

    Cheers

    Ian

    That encapsulates it, basically.

And If you are real comfortable with fitness niche and have a lot to offer then by all means go for it.

Just make sure you separate yourself from the crowd. That is the only way you make it.

    Best of luck
